Soil is a common Crafting Material in Disney Dreamlight Valley that is not too hard to obtain.
You can craft all sorts of decorative items with the Soil, and more importantly, the Crafting Material also serves as a quest item, making it mandatory if you want to complete certain quests.
Just in case you are struggling with this Crafting Material, we’ve prepared the guide below, where we will explain everything you need to know about Soil in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
How To Get Soil In Disney Dreamlight Valley
The method in which you obtain this Crafting Material is quite straightforward.
All you have to do is dig it out of the ground in the following areas:
- Plaza
- Peaceful Meadow
- Forest of Valor
- Glade of Trust
- Sunlit Plateau
- Frosted Heights
- Forgotten Lands
Of course, you can only do this with your Shovel, so equip it (press RT on your Xbox controller), head to one of the Biomes mentioned above, and start digging (press X also on your Xbox).
The Soil is not guaranteed to drop, but you have a big chance with each hole you dig.

To have a chance of doubling the resources you find while digging, you should bring along a companion specialized in digging, preferably the one with the highest level.

Also, try to focus on the Plaza, Peaceful Meadow, and Forest of Valor areas because the chances of getting Soil here are bigger.
How To Use The Soil
Now that you’ve learned how to obtain the Crafting Material, you must make use of it.
So, below you have a list of quests in which the Material is mandatory:
- Village Project The Garden – Wall-E’s quest in which you have to build a garden will require 33 units
- The Dreamlight Fountain – Donald’s last friendship quest for the Early Access version of the game requires 18 units
- My Kingdom For A Scroll – is the first friendship quest from Mother Gothel, and it requires 30 units
