In Search Of The Immortal Wizard is the first Wo Long Fallen Dynasty Main Battlefield of Part 3 Corruption in the Souls-like video game published by Koei Tecmo. Wo Long Fallen Dynasty In Search Of The Immortal Wizard Main Battlefield takes place on Mt. Tianzhushan, where, alongside Hong Jing, you must find Zuo Ci.
In Search Of The Immortal Wizard mission features four collectibles and a key item you don’t want to miss because it allows you to unlock one of the houses in the Hidden Village. Furthermore, there are 10 In Search Of The Immortal Wizard Flags you must discover within the forest area, and our walkthrough below reveals all their locations.
While navigating the jungle, the level design may look overwhelming; however, if you follow our Wo Long Fallen Dynasty In Search Of The Immortal Wizard guide, we’ll explain how to defeat all enemies and where to find all loot spots.
Unlocked upon finishing, The Demon Fort Of The Yellow Heaven, In Search Of The Immortal Wizard, can be accessed via the Battle Flag in the Hidden Village of Mt. Tianzhushan, and your companion is Hong Jing. While she is quite powerful, if you need additional help, consider recruiting a second companion to help you deal with the beasts faster.
After starting the Battlefield, the first Battle Flag will be in front of you, while the first loot spot containing 1 Genuine Qi Fragment is in front of the wooden gate, opposed to the Flag. Make sure you get it, then return to the Flag.
Battle Flag #2
From the first Battle Flag, cross the river and hug the right side to get to an entrance where you should be able to see a loot spot. Attack the withered bamboo trees, then sneak behind the wolf. Kill the beast and collect the Rank 3 Decorative Knot. Now, return to the Battle Flag and remain on the left river bank. Nearby, you’ll see another area you can access by cutting down the withered bamboo trees.
Behind them is a Changgui tiger you can also surprise with an attack from behind. After defeating the tiger, retrace your steps to the first Battle Flag and move up the river. Stay alert because, in the distance, there are two enemies (pictured below).

The first one is a Huoshu or a rat-like beast you’ll want to lure toward you by shooting an arrow. The Huoshu is accessible but explodes before dying, so dodge away. The other demon is a Shuigui, a mermaid-like foe you first encountered when playing The Valley of Crying Wraiths.
While weak, this demon is extremely fast, so you’ll have to dodge a lot to avoid its attacks. After dealing with both of them, loot the Genuine Qi Fragment, then slowly continue up the river.
Eventually, on the right side, you’ll see a wolf, while in the water is another Shuigui. Lure the Shuigui away from the wolf, and after you kill it, deal with the wolf and loot the Genuine Qi Fragment near the mountain wall. Great job! Now, continue on the path on the right river bank, behind the wolf you just killed, but stay alert because a larger version of the Huoshu will charge forward.
It’s a bit stronger but easy to deal with due to its size. Again, remember to dodge away when the beast explodes. As you enter the path through the forest, you’ll find another Genuine Qi Fragment and, in the distance, the second In Search Of The Immortal Wizard Battle Flag.

At this Flag, you’ll want to rest and restock on arrows. If possible, make sure you level up your character.
Marking Flag #1
From the second Battlefield Flag, continue up the path on the right side, where you should see a smaller Huoshu rat patrolling. Before attacking the beast from behind, loot the Dragon’s Cure Powder inside the hut on the right.
As you progress up the stairs, be advised that there is a Zhuyan waiting to ambush you. Look on top of the small temple in the clearing, and you’ll see the ape-like demon on the roof. While not as powerful as the Zhuyan boss you defeated in Two Chivalrous Heroes, the smaller version you are about to face retains the same attacks.
Be ready to parry the demon’s attacks and deflect his powerful red blows to stagger him. After defeating the Zhuyan, loot the Treasure Chest on the floor of the temple to obtain a Rank 3 Heavy Cavalry Spear +1.
Now, you’ll want to move towards the stone bridge, collecting the Genuine Qi Fragment on the right side. As you cross the bridge, you’ll see another loot spot containing 2 Throwing Knives. Once you get them, while standing on top of the bridge, look to the area below to spot a patrolling Changgui tiger.

Since you have the high-ground advantage, you’ll want to land an aerial attack when the tiger gets close to the bridge, then deal with him as you did with the previous one.
After defeating the Changgui, look around, and you’ll see the first In Search Of The Immortal Wizard Marking Flag and a loot spot containing 1 Genuine Qi Fragment. Both of them are marked in the screenshot below.

Battle Flag #3
From the previous Flag, cut the withered bamboo trees on the right side, then collect the Small Genuine Qi Clot on the ground. Now, if you die after the first Flag, you’ll need to deal again with the first Changgui tiger. If not, continue up the hill on the right to get to another clearing. Here, you’ll see several Huoshu rats patrolling on the ground and a Changgui tiger on top of the rocks. Clearing this area is mandatory.
Assuming you want to play safe, the best approach is to lure the rats one by one by shooting them. Each rat you kill has a chance to explode, so make sure you dodge away. There are four rats in the clearing, and you’ll want to take them out one by one before entering the next area.

Alternatively, you can lure the tiger first, then deal with the rats. Regardless of how you choose to approach the beasts, once you deal with all of them, check the other side of the clearing, and on top of a small hill, you’ll find a loot spot containing 1 Rank 3 Steel.
Make sure you grab it before activating the third Battle Flag on top of the stone. Now, you’ll want to rest, level up, and restock, and when you are ready, jump to the area between the two rocks and check another loot spot.
Marking Flag #2
From the last Battle Flag, head towards the stairs to get to the other side of the river, but make sure that before going down, you jump on top of the stone pillar to get the Small Genuine Qi Clot.
Now, from your current location, you can perform an air attack on the wolf below. Kill him, then loot the Genuine Qi Fragment at the bottom of the pillar. Next, you’ll want to hug the right side and cross the river, looting another Genuine Qi Fragment behind the small stone on the upper side of the water stream.
As you cross the river, deal with the wolf patrolling around the stone and get the loot he was guarding. The next section you’ll want to explore requires you to get back to the area where you defeated the Zhuyan monkey, so climb the ledges ahead, then turn left and descend the stairs where you should see the next Marking Flag pictured below.

On your way down the stairs, you’ll want to loot some Throwing Knives before engaging the Huoshu rats. Lure the one by the bamboo trees first, then attack the one facing the Flag from behind.
Marking Flag #3
Awesome! Now, let’s head back to the previous area or the second section of the river. Retrace your steps following the same path, and after you reach the river, before following the water stream, cross to the other side, and while facing the stairs, turn right to see some withered bamboo trees.
Cut them down, then slowly enter the secluded area, but stay alert because you’ll have to deal with two Huoshu rats, one of them being the large version. Focus on the smaller one first and dodge away if the beast is getting ready to explode, then deal with the bigger one.
Now, you’ll want to loot the 3 Rank 3 Leather before activating the third Marking Flag in Search Of The Immortal Wizard mission.

Battle Flag #4
After you activate the previous Flag, on your way back to the river, get the Anti-Freeze Soil in the small entrance on the left side of the area where you fought the two Huoshu rats. Now, it’s time to head up the river after dealing with the first wolf. Stay alert, though, because behind the large stone pillar by the river is a Changgui tiger waiting for you (pictured below).

To clear the next area successfully, first, deal with the Huoshu rat on the right side by sneaking behind the beast. Next, sneak behind the Changgui tiger for a surprise attack, then make sure you loot the Rank 4 Nameless Warrior Garb +2 (also marked in the screenshot above).
After you get the gear, return to the path where you fought the Huoshu rat, and you’ll find a second one protecting 2 Rank 3 Steel. After you get them, push forward following the river, and you’ll reach a clearing. Here, you’ll have to deal with six Shuigui mermaids.
How you deal with the Shuigui mermaids in the next area mostly depends on your playstyle; however, you should know that all of them can be surprised by attacking them from behind or above.
While they are fast, their field of view is relatively small, making them easy targets. On the right side, while facing the hill ahead, there are four loot spots (marked below) you don’t want to miss because they contain the following items:
- 4 Throwing Knives – on the upper right mountain wall
- 2 Rank 3 Leather – on the small island in the lake
- 1 Sacred Lotus – in front of a Shuigui mermaid
- Rank 4 Nameless Warrior Footwear – on the upper mountain wall (golden loot spot)

On the left side of the lake, while facing the hill, there are 2 Shuigui mermaids behind the stone pillars. After you kill them, go around the pillars and look for a small ledge you can climb. From the pillar, jump to the other one to obtain 2 Rank 3 Steel. At the bottom of the second pillar, you’ll also find 1 Talismanic Water.
Now that you have cleared this section, the path ahead becomes linear, so follow it up the hill to find the fourth Battle Flag (pictured below). Several steps away, you can also spot one of the 23 Shitieshou Panda Bears in Wo Long Fallen Dynasty.

Marking Flag #4
After feeding the Shitieshou Bear one of your items, by dropping it from your inventory in front of the cute Panda, follow the stairs ahead. The path is linear, but you’ll want to pay attention to the left side because you can access a hidden entrance by cutting down some withered bamboo.
You can see the exact location below, and in this secluded area, you’ll find the fourth In Search Of The Immortal Wizard Marking Flag. Make sure you activate it before heading up the mountain path.

Battle Flag #5
After activating the fourth Marking Flag, as you progress up the mountain, loot the Genuine Qi Fragment on the left side behind some bamboo trees. Keep pushing forward, and you’ll enter a corrupted cave.
By the entrance, on the left side, you’ll see a loot spot containing 1 Rank 3 Steel. When inside the cave, there is a specific path you should follow, and we’ll outline it below. If you stick to this path, you’ll get all loot and collectibles in a single run without getting lost. So here is what you have to do:
- Head towards the upper area, climb the first tree branch on the left side, then jump to the ledge ahead to get the Golden Cicada Shell
- Continue along the next branch, then jump to the next ledge to get the 2 Rank 3 Steel
- Follow the tunnel ahead, then climb another ledge to reach a larger area where you’ll find a Treasure Chest with 1 Genuine Qi Clot and one of the 31 Tablet Collectibles.
- Follow the branch on the left side, jump over the gap, and turn right to spot one of the 15 Dragon Vein Essence you can reach after jumping over another gap.
After obtaining all these items, prepare to face a new type of enemy known as Zhupolong. This demon crocodile is quite large but, due to its size, is also very slow; thus, it is an easy target that can be defeated by attacking it from its sides.
The most dangerous attacks come from its tail, so if you don’t feel comfortable fighting the Demonized Crocodile in the large area, feel free to retreat inside one of the narrow corridors, where the beast can’t spin.
Once you defeat the Zhupolong Crocodile, activate the final Battle Flag (pictured below), then collect the Five Minerals Powder near the pots and the 2 Rank 3 Leather in the middle of the cave. Last but not least, smash the crates on the left side of the Battle Flag for some Throwing Knives.

Marking Flag #5
Now that you have activated the final Battle Flag, it’s time to get to the last Marking Flag; therefore, head up the ramp made of roots behind the Battle Flag and continue following the tunnel, where you should see a small Huoshu rat.
Deal with the beast first, then take a left turn. Before following the root up, check the lower section to find 1 Rank 3 Leather. Now, climb the branch, then jump over the two gaps to reach the fifth Marking Flag in Wo Long Fallen Dynasty In Search Of The Immortal Wizard.

After activating the Marking Flag, you’ll want to return to the tunnel and head outside, but make sure you collect the Taoist’s House Key on the left side. The key is used to open one of the houses in the Hidden Village. At the end of the path ahead, you’ll reach an arena where you’ll need to deal with the final boss, Aoye.
How to Defeat Aoye in Search of the Immortal Wizard
Aoye is by far one of the most challenging bosses you have encountered so far in Wo Long Fallen Dynasty because, despite his size, the bull-like demon hits hard and has multiple attacks. While the fight features a single phase, Aoye won’t come down quickly, so starting the battle with two companions is recommended.
This boss has a Water Affinity, meaning that you’ll want to use Earth Spells as much as possible. Deflecting his red attacks is key here, alongside patience. Don’t play aggressively, and pay attention to his moves.
When he jumps on his belly, it is best to dodge the attack, even though you can deflect it. If you fail to deflect, you’ll take a lot of damage. Another brutal attack you should consider dodging instead of deflecting is the charge attack when Aoye uses his horns to stab you.
Last but not least, after you deflect one of his Critical Blows, Aoye summons an Icicle Storm that you’ll also want to deflect. If you want to play safe, consider attacking the boss from its sides, but be extra cautious for his spinning attacks.

Finally, encourage your companions to attack him whenever you get the chance. Obviously, the fight is skill-dependent, and your success also depends on your build and the gear you currently have equipped. After you deal with Aoye, you’ll meet Zuo Ci, and he’ll move to the Forbidden Village. The next two Battlefields you’ll unlock are Shadow of the Sacred Mountain and Fall of the Corrupted Eunuch.
