As you venture into the Upper City of the Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, you’ll encounter an intricate puzzle featuring two giant movable statues with poles attached to them. To solve this puzzle, you must make use of your Chakram and the unique ability known as “Rush of the Simurgh,” which becomes available after defeating the Jahandar boss.

By following the step-by-step solution outlined in this guide, you will quickly solve the Upper City Statues puzzle and unlock the path to finding Anahita in the Upper Citadel as part of The Abducted Prince Main Quest.

How To Solve the Lions Statues Puzzle in Upper City

First, let’s get to know the elements in this room before jumping into the solution. This puzzle is slightly different from the Water Wheel puzzle in Lower City, but it still shares a few similarities.

You’ll come across two giant feline statues facing each other once you navigate through the platforming section featuring spinning gear wheels and floor spikes. There’s a white chakram gear wheel positioned between them, and each statue has a pole attached.

Step #1: Reach the First Platform

To begin solving the Upper City Statues puzzle, aim the Chakram at the white gear wheel (hold - GameClubz/- GameClubz) and then release the button to shoot it. This will make the statues move in opposite directions.

Head over to the left side of the room. Once you’re there, go ahead and jump on the wall, then perform “Rush of the Simurgh” towards the pole by pressing - GameClubz/- GameClubz. Finally, swing yourself up onto the platform above.

Step #2: Reach the Second Platform

Now, press - GameClubz/- GameClubz to retrieve your Chakram and make the statues return to their initial positions. Once that’s done, drop down through the platform and quickly perform “Rush of the Simurgh” towards the first pole. To reach the second pole, swing towards it and perform another rush. From there, jump onto the platform above it.

Here's how to reach the second platform of the Upper City Statues puzzle.

Step #3: Reach the Third Platform & Activate the Elevator

Aim and shoot your Chakram at the white gear wheel between the statues to make them move again. After that, drop down through the platform and perform “Rush of the Simurgh” towards the pole on the right side of the room, then jump onto another platform above.

Climb the walls and jump over to the elevator on the left. Once you reach the elevator, interact with it to go down.

Step #4: Finish the Upper City Statues Puzzle

Make your way back onto the first platform (repeat step #1) and climb up the walls to find another white gear wheel above a grated floor. After you retrieve your Chakram, aim and shoot at it.

Jump back down to the first platform, and make your way to the second platform again (repeat step #2). Use the elevator to go up, then step on the second elevator platform. Retrieve your Chakram to make the elevator go up and finish the Lion Statues puzzle in the Upper City of PoP: The Lost Crown.

Aim and shoot at the second white gear wheel.
Grab back the Chakram to raise the elavator and solve the Upper City Lions Statues Puzzle in PoP: The Lost Crown.

Before you continue your search for Anahita, I suggest that you take a moment to find the switch on the right side of the area, near the lore stone tablet. By pulling this switch, you will be able to create a convenient shortcut.

If you’re keen on taking on some side quests right at the beginning of the story, I highly recommend giving Ancient Power UnearthedThe Deserter, or Motherly Love quests a shot. If you happen to stumble upon the Clock Puzzles in Upper City and you need some help to solve them, our guide can be quite useful.
