While playing Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, you can expect to come across a bunch of challenges, puzzles, and collectibles as you navigate the mythical Mount Qaf. One such puzzle is the Water Wheel puzzle found in the Lower City, where your goal is to reach and pull a handle in the top right corner of the room to unlock the door.

In this PoP: The Lost Crown guide, I will walk you through the steps to successfully solve the Lower City Water Wheel puzzle and unlock the path to the Hyrcanian Forest.

How To Solve the Water Wheel Puzzle in Lower City

Before diving into the solution, let’s familiarize ourselves with the elements in this room. The Prince of Persia Water Wheel puzzle consists of a large wheel with two poles to swing from, as well as a smaller wheel with one pole to swing from to the right of the larger wheel.

Additionally, there are two pressure plates on the ground that you can use to turn the wheels. However, at the moment, they’re not functioning properly. To get them working, you’ll need to pull a couple of levers on the ceiling as part of the puzzle.

The objective is to reach and pull the handle on the top right corner of the room. Follow the steps below to solve the PoP: Lost Crown Water Wheel puzzle in the Lower City.

Step #1: Activate the First Lever

To start, grab the pole at the bottom of the large wheel. Swing over to the second pole on the left and then leap towards the handle on the wall. Once you’re there, jump over to the lever on the ceiling and hit it with a sword attack to open the trap and let the water flow.

Step #2: Activate the Second Lever

Now, it’s time to activate the second lever. Step on the first pressure plate to turn the larger wheel until the poles on it are at twelve and three o’clock positions. Then, head to the right side of the room and grab the pole on the smaller wheel. Swing up towards the ceiling to reach the other lever and give it a sword attack, just like before.

Step #3: Pull the Handle Switch

Step on the right pressure plate and wait until the poles of the larger water wheel are at three and six o’clock positions. Then, hop on the bottom (six o’clock) pole, swing over to the pole at three o’clock, and then onwards to the smaller wheel’s pole. From here, simply jump to the top handle on the wall to pull it down and unlock the door.

Make your way through the unlocked door and get ready to face the Undead Prisoner, a challenging boss fight that you must win in order to advance into the Hyrcanian Forest. Solving the Water Wheel puzzle in the Lower City is crucial in progressing through Ubisoft’s Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown.
