Escape Academy Trial By Taste is a little easier than Lab Rat, the previous escape room we covered in the video game developed by Coin Crew Games. The Trial By Taste level is rated 2/5, which you would think is not hard at all; however, it can prove quite challenging despite the low difficulty rating.
As always, finishing the escape room as fast as possible is essential, provided you want to get a good grade and keep confirming you are an outstanding student. And there is no shame if you need a little help, so check the guide below if you get stuck at any point in the Escape Academy Trial By Taste escape room.
How To Complete Trial By Taste Escape Room
You must go to The Cafeteria and talk to Jeb to start the Escape Academy Trial By Taste level. So head there regardless of whether you are hungry or not. To complete the escape room, you must get your hands on a milkshake that Jeb locked away on a serving dish.
That doesn’t seem hard at all, but you have a surprise waiting for you that will complicate things, so let’s get to it.
How To Unlock the Serving Dish
To Unlock The Serving Dish in the Trial By Taste escape room, you’ll need three keys, or rather, three Funky Forks, for the dishes’ locks. To get one of the Forks, you must position yourself near the conveyor belt to the right of Jeb.
Wait until the conveyor belt brings a plate with a Fork on it and quickly grab it. Now go to the opposite side of the room from Jeb and pick up the Fire Extinguisher near the window. Also, between the window and the location from where you got the extinguisher, you can see a paper on the wall with the FORBIDDEN Microwave Knowledge.
Memorize the time needed to cook the Unidentified Meat, which is 3:35. Make your way back to Jeb, inspect the microwave to his left, and input 3:35 because there is an Unidentified Meat with one of the Funky Forks you are looking for inside.
You’ve started a fire and learned a valuable lesson: never use a microwave that has metal inside. Good thing you picked up the Fire Extinguisher before, so use it to put out the fire and pick up the Fork.
The third and last Funky Fork is on the tray with plates to the left of the Serving Dish. Now inspect the Serving Dish and use each Fork on the corresponding lock. Drink the milkshake to escape, but wait, you’ve actually been poisoned, so now you have to find an antidote, and to do this, you must first get out of the kitchen.
Also, notice you only have 15 minutes to find the antidote; therefore, you should hustle up and pause the game while following our guide.
How To Solve Escape the Kitchen Puzzle
To Escape The Kitchen in Escape Academy Trial By Taste, you need the code for the lock on the freezer’s door. And to get the code, you need to find the toaster on the table in the middle of the room. Interact with the toaster so that it spits out four oddly shaped slices of Bread.
The slices of Bread actually indicate the freezer’s code, meaning you have to memorize the shapes and use them on the lock. Once in the freezer, turn left and go to the back, where you can see a poster to which you’ll have to return later. Pick up the Kitchen Knife on the shelf to the poster’s right because you’ll need it later.
Also, you can find an ice box on the shelf to the poster’s left. Pick up the Ice Cube With A Key inside it.
Now exit the freezer and go to the hob with the frying pan on it, to the left, just before reaching the window. Put the Ice Cube from before in the pan to melt it and get the Small Key that was inside the cube.
Open the kitchen door to enter the dining room and move on to the next step required for the Trial By Taste escape room.
Get the Antidote Recipe Puzzle Solution
You can focus on getting The Antidote Recipe now that you are in the dining room. And the first step in doing so is to go to the fireplace on the right side of the room to put out the fire with the Fire Extinguisher you got at the start of the level.
You can pick up the Dirty Plate inside the fireplace once the fire is out. Now go back to the kitchen to wash the plate using the sink on the middle table, you know, the one with the toaster from before.
The Dirty Plate is now a Cryptic Plate you’ll use in a second. Make your way to the dining room, precisely to the big table on the left side (the last table on the left side).
Take a good look at the Cryptic Plate from before, then Interact with the spice support in the middle of the big table. You now have to spin the spice support using the instructions on the Cryptic Plate, as shown in the following screenshot.
Start from UP or NORTH clockwise to RIGHT or EAST, then anticlockwise to LEFT or WEST, and finish clockwise to DOWN or SOUTH. It’s really easy if you consult the Cryptic Plate, and if you spin the spice support correctly, a secret compartment opens up with the Antidote Recipe.
If you read the recipe, you’ll see that you now must find what exactly poisoned you, that is if you want to create the antidote and complete the Escape Academy Trial By Taste.
Figure Out Your Poison Puzzle Solution
To Figure Out Your Poison, return to the fireplace in the dining room and cut the cake on the table to the left with the Kitchen Knife you got from the freezer. Then, keep in mind the cake layers’ colors and go to the next table, the one with a locked present on it.
Open the lock by inserting the code (layers’ colors) you got from the cake:
- 1 – Red
- 2- Yellow
- 3 – Purple
- 4 – Blue
You’ll get your hands on an Encyclopedia of Poisons from which you can understand that you got poisoned with Belladonna and that if you combine it correctly with Calabar, you’ll get the antidote.
The ingredients to make the antidote are in the locked STAFF ONLY cabinet in the dining room, on the opposite side of the kitchen, between the window and the door leading outside. So, the next step for Escape Academy Trial By Taste is to find the cabinet’s key.
How To Solve the Eavesdrop Puzzle
To get the key, you must first go to the kitchen freezer and take a picture of the poster in the back with your phone. I’ll also put a screenshot of the poster below.
Now go back to the dining room, behind the big table on the left side, to the picture with TODAY’S SPECIALS, and move it out of the way to find a triangle with four buttons.
As you can see, the TODAY’S SPECIALS picture has four food items on it:
- 1 – Cheese
- 2 – Apple
- 3 – Meat
- 4 – Bread
Now check the poster from the freezer and look for the food items listed before to get the code for the triangle buttons. The Cheese is on the top of the poster, the Apple is to the right, the Meat is on the top, and the Bread is on the bottom.
Therefore, you should press the triangle buttons in the following order: UP, RIGHT, UP, DOWN. Get inside the newly revealed elevator and press the switch to go down. Now snatch the Staff Key from behind Jeb’s and Eel’s backs without them even noticing.
Then, go back up with the elevator to complete the Eavesdrop Puzzle in the Escape Academy Trial By Taste escape room.
How To Mix the Antidote
One last thing left to do now, and that is To Mix The Antidote so go to the STAFF ONLY cabinet. Open the cabinet with the Staff Key from before and pull out the Antidote Recipe. So you need one dash of Belladonna Syrup, three dashes of Calabar Extract, and one splash of Mineral Water. Then, put the mix in the Shaker and drink it up.
Follow the exact order listed above, and the drink should make you feel better, completing the Escape Academy Trial By Taste level. You can now start the next level, named Tea Kettle.
