Wondering how to remove the Tales of Arise Iglia Wastes boulder or how to complete the Map Action in front of the guarded rock? The answer here is quite simple: progress through the story; however, there is more than that, and there are far more requirements you should be aware of in case you want the Tales of Arise Iglia Wastes rock removed.

Below, we’ll discuss this specific rock or boulder in Iglia Wastes and how to remove it in order to access the area behind it.

As you can see on the map above, this specific boulder is found on the southwestern side of Iglia Wastes, an area in Calaglia you’ll visit quite early in the game developed by Bandai Namco Entertainment. When you get here while following the game’s story, you’ll most likely stumble upon this rock, and if you open your map, you’ll notice an icon depicting an exclamation mark.

This icon is, in fact, the Tales of Arise Iglia Wastes Map Action that’s been bothering a lot of players. On top of this, you’ll see a Male Crimson Crows Member guarding this boulder. He won’t offer too many details because, well…he’s on duty. Good, so let’s see how you can make the Male Crimson Crows Member move.

To remove both the Male Crimson Crows Member guard and the Iglia Wastes boulder, as said, there are several requirements. First, you’ll need to complete the Taking Root Sub-Quest in Ulzebek. It is one of the 70 Tales of Arise Sub-Quest you’ll need to finish.

If you want to know why, then the answer here is again simple. Because it unlocks the next quest in line, named Mixed Feelings. Taking Root is a very short quest that becomes available in Ulzebek the moment you free Calaglia by defeating the first Lord. Before leaving, return to Ulzebek, talk to Grenar, and he’ll ask you to kill some wolves in Iglia Wastes.

Do that, then forget about the rock and the guard. Focus on the story, and you’ll eventually unlock Law. He plays an important role in the whole “boulder problem” because only he can smash that huge rock.

So, what’s left now is our friendly guard, who is still in front of the rock. To make the Tales of Arise Iglia Wastes guard move, you’ll need to beat the story. This means that after you deal with the last boss in the game and after you watch the credits, you’ll need to reload the save that is automatically created.

Now, you’ll return to the area before the last boss fight. Fast travel to Calaglia and Ulzebek and talk to Grenar, who is waiting for you. Once you do this, you’ll start the Mixed Feelings Sub Quest, and you’ll need to pay a visit to the masked guard. Except that now he moved away, thus allowing Law to smash the boulder in Iglia Wastes.

What Is Behind the Map Action Boulder

Behind the Map Action Boulder in Iglia Wastes is a boss. Specifically, it is a Level 53 Thunderite that will not pose a problem when you encounter it. Other than that, there is nothing you can find there; however, this specific boss drops an important item for Law.

I won’t spoil the game, so go ahead and beat the Thunderite if you wish to find out what that item is. What I can tell you, though, is that along with the items dropped by the boss, you’ll also receive Zephyr’s Ring and the Dawn Bracers as a reward for finishing the Tales of Arise Mixed Feeling Sub-Quest.
