Grasslands Guides:

Updated March 6, 2024

In the northeasternmost section of the Grasslands region from Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, you can find Phenomenon Intel 1, a side activity that is both hilarious and mandatory. Besides the fact that it allows you to get more Regional Data for Chadley, the Grasslands Phenomenon Intel 1 unlocks another activity named simply Phenomenon Intel 2.

In this guide, I’ll tell you where to find the FFVII Rebirth Phenomenon Intel 1 in Grasslands and how to complete it.

Where To Find the FFVII Rebirth Phenomenon Intel 1 in Grasslands

As said, the Wild Bandit Chase Phenomenon is found in the upper right corner of the Grasslands area, just north of Divine Intel 1: Titan Sanctuary α and northeast of Fiend Intel 1: Voracious and Venomous. Although not mandatory if you can’t see it on your map, I recommend activating the Eastern Seaboard Tower, which you can also see on my map below.

It is also recommended to catch Piko the Grasslands Chocobo so you can get to the location on my map faster. Once you arrive, you’ll trigger the objective of this side activity. Specifically, you must investigate the area looking for Protorelic Clues.

If you look around, you should be able to identify a castle surrounded by a fence. Getting inside the small courtyard is your first objective.

Where to Find the Final Fantasy 7 Phenomenon Intel 1 Protorelic Clues

To get the clues in Phenomenon Intel 1: Wild Bandit Chase, first, you must find a way to enter the courtyard. Since the gate is locked while facing the castle, head right around the fence, and you should spot a hole that allows Cloud to get inside.

To find the Protorelic Clues, you have to get inside the enclosure using the hole in the fence.

Once inside the courtyard, head back to the front of the fort, and on the left side of the locked door, you can see some yellow ledges that allow Cloud to climb to the roof. When you get on top of the fort, you’ll meet four NPCs:

  • Beck
  • Burke
  • Butch
  • Burt

As you are about to discover, Beck’s Badasses are not the brightest, but they have what you need. At this point, you can ask them several questions, but the result is the same. And it’s not peaceful. Unfortunately, Beck manages to escape, so you’ll have to defeat only Burke, Butch, and Burt.

After the battle starts, if you Assess your targets, you’ll find out they are weak to fire-based attacks. So, make sure you cast as many fire spells as possible.

Once you defeat the Decoys, you’ll get a call from Chadley, who informs you that he managed to find the next location of the Protorelic. Now, Grasslands Phenomenon Intel 2: Pipeline Management Facility becomes available northeast of Expedition Intel 5 and east of Fiend Intel 5.
