Grasslands Guides:

Updated March 4, 2024

Bearer of Grudges is the second Fiend Intel in the Grasslands area of FFVII Rebirth and a combat assignment you’ll want to complete for Chadley. Also known as Fiend Intel 2, this combat challenge revolves around Enmidunks, the elephant-like creatures inhabiting Grasslands.

To successfully beat the Bearer of Grudges Fiend Intel 2 challenge, you must complete three objectives:

  • Pressure an enemy.
  • Stagger an enemy.
  • Defeat all enemies within the time limit.

In this guide, I’ll tell you how to complete all Grasslands Fiend Intel 2 objectives in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.

Where To Find the Fiend Intel 2 in Grasslands

The Bearer of Grudges challenge is found in the southeastern corner of the Grassland, as you can see on the map below. If you can’t find it on your map, consider activating the Eastern Seaboard Tower to the north and the Swamplands Tower to the west.

The Bearer of Grudges Fiend Intel 2 challenge is found in the southeastern corner of Grasslands.

I also recommend unlocking Piko the Chocobo and finishing the Prairie Moogle Intel minigame before heading to the second Fiend Intel. To start the Challenge, approach the location on my map and scout the area to find 2 Enmidunks.

How to Pressure an Enemy

The moment you engage in combat, you’ll need to focus on the first objective, which requires you to pressure an enemy. This objective can be completed by knowing the enemy’s weakness. As such, you’ll want to have an Assess Materia equipped by your party’s leader.

Assuming you have enough MP, press X to open the Commands Menu, and from Abilities, select Assess. Then pick a target, and you’ll discover that the Enmidunks are weak to Fire and Ice attacks and spells. Now, pick a target and cast a spell, such as Fire, for 4 MP. This will pressure your current target.

To pressure an enemy, cast a fire spell.

How to Stagger an Enemy

Staggering an enemy in the Grasslands Fiend Intel 2 Challenge is easy because all you need to do is constantly attack the target you have pressured earlier. There is no need to cast more spells; just make sure you block the creature’s attacks and keep damaging it.

For this objective, you want to make sure you don’t switch targets, meaning that you should keep attacking the Enmidunk you pressured.

To stagger an enemy, attack the same target you pressured earlier.

How to Defeat All Enemies Within the Time Limit

Defeating all enemies within the time limit in this FFVII Rebirth challenge is also fairly easy because all of Cloud’s abilities should be charged by the time you stagger and defeat the first Enmidunk. This means that you can release them on the second Enmidunk to finish the battle. Here, I suggest using the Cross-Slash Limit Break Attack.

To defeat all enemies within the time limit, release all your charged abilities on the last Enmidunk.

Assuming that you miss one of the objectives, it is worth knowing that you can replay the Intel Challenge without losing the progress you have made.

This makes the whole Challenge much easier because you can focus only on the missed objectives. You may remember how useful this feature is from the Voracious and Venomous Fiend Intel 1. After you finish this Challenge, head to the swamp area and focus on Keepers of the Burrow Fiend Intel 3.
