Updated March 1, 2024

Prairie Moogle is the first FFVII Rebirth Moogle Intel and minigame that becomes available once Cloud and his team escape Kalm City and enter the Grasslands. The Prairie Moogle Intel minigame is also one of the most entertaining activities in the first region of the game.

Your objective is to round up 5 Mooglets and bring them back to their enclosure while avoiding their tricks. The Mooglets in question are Mosh, Molala, Molulu, Moog, and Mokey.

By completing this minigame, you’ll get access to the Moogle Emporium, where you can spend the Moogle Medals you find for useful items.

Where To Find the Prairie Moogle Intel in Grasslands

The Prairie Moogle activity is found southeast of Bill’s Ranch in the Grasslands Region. You can see it on the map below, but I recommend visiting it after catching Piko the Chocobo and finding the three Jadewind Hill Treasure Chests.

Once you get close to the location marked above, look for the Mogstool, which is a treehouse similar to a mushroom. Get inside, and you’ll be introduced to the Moogle Intel minigame.

How To Complete the Prairie Moogle Minigame

The idea behind this activity is fairly simple. Your objective is to guide the five Mooglets to the courtyard of the Mogstool. You are not allowed to interact with them, so you must guide them by getting close. However, as you are about to discover, these cute Mooglets like to play and have some tricks up their sleeves.

Specifically, they will set traps or throw things at you. If you get hit three times by the objects they throw, you’ll have to start over. Here is how to round up the five Mooglets in Prairie Moogle.

How To Catch Molala

Molala is the orange Mooglet; her trick involves some spheres she throws at you. You can see one of them below. It is the first Mooglet you should chase because she can hit you from anywhere.

The bubbles she throws fly in a straight line, so they are easy to avoid. Once you get close to her, she starts moving around. Remember to stay close behind her and round her up first by leading her to the Mog tree enclosure.

How To Catch Molulu

Molulu is also quite dangerous because he throws flares to the ground. Step away whenever you see the red markers on the ground, or you’ll get hit. If you encounter difficulties, you should know that Molulu can throw the flares only when stationary.

This means that if you stay close to Molulu, you’ll for the Mooglet to move, thus interrupting the flares. Molulu should be the second Mooglet you round up, but this depends on where Mosh is located.

Molulul is the blue Mooglet and he throws flares.

How To Catch Mosh

Mosh is the green Mooglet, and just like Molala, he is very dangerous because he throws three discs in a straight line. If you see him in the opening, consider rounding him first or second, replacing Molulu above, because he can also hit you from any spot.

Remember that Mosh always throws the discs in front of him, so position yourself behind him.

How To Catch Mokey

Mokey is the yellow Mooglet, and you can round him up fourth. His trick is to throw banana peels on the ground. You have to avoid them because if you step on one of them, it counts as a hit. So, keep your eyes on the ground and lead the cute Moogle to the enclosure without stepping on the peels.

How To Catch Moog

Finally, you have to round up Moog or the red Mooglet. Similar to Mokey, Moog throws bombs on the ground in a circle around him. When you see the purple bombs, step away, or you’ll get hit.

Keep Moog moving because he can’t throw bombs while stationary. Once you lead him to the enclosure, the Prairie Moogle Intel activity is complete.
