Grasslands Guides:

Updated March 4, 2024

The swampy area in southern Grasslands features two FF7 Rebirth Treasure Cache Locations: Mistveil Reservoir and Marshy Mire. These two landmarks are equally important, but the Mistveil Reservoir Treasure Chests are a bit trickier.

They also have different requirements, meaning you won’t be able to reach them as soon as you enter the Grasslands after Cloud escapes Kalm City. In this Final Fantasy VII Rebirth guide, I’ll tell you everything you need to know about the Mistveil Reservoir Chests.

Where To Find the FFVII Rebirth Mistveil Reservoir Cache Location

The Mistveil Reservoir is found on the western side of the Grasslands Swamp, south of Morass Lifespring Expedition Intel 3 and Titan Sanctuary β Divine Intel 2.

Mistveil Reservoir Treasure Cache is found in the Grasslands Swamp area of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.

To get to the Mistveil Reservoir landmark in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, you must first unlock Piko the Chocobo because he is able to swim. This step is mandatory and recommended; however, you can also swim, but only after you complete Chapter 2: A New Journey Begins. After dealing with the Swamp boss, Cloud can safely swim in the river.

Where To Find the Three Final Fantasy 7 Mistveil Reservoir Treasure Chests

Upon reaching the location I have marked above, look around to spot a demolished building. You should also see some stairs leading to the top of the reservoir. Follow them, and when you reach the top, turn right to spot the first Mistveil Reservoir Cache under a tower.

The first Treasure Chest is found under a tower.

Jump to the lower area, open the chest to get a hi-potion, then smash all boxes in the enclosure before retracing your steps to the previous section.

After climbing back, look around, and you’ll see a small building at the end of a walkway. In front of the building, you’ll see the second Mistveil Reservoir Chest; however, get ready to fight some trolls and a wolf. Inside this Cache, you’ll find a beastman armband.

The second Mistveil Reservoir Chest is found in front of a cabin.

For the last chest, turn your back to the previous Cache, and on the other side of the walkway, you’ll see a ladder leading to the next level of the reservoir. Climb it and follow the balcony around the concrete building.

Take a left turn, then when you reach the other side of the balcony, turn left, and around the corner, you’ll see the last Cache, which contains a bottle of ether.

The third Chest is found on top of the reservoir behind a building.

After you open this chest, you can follow the path behind the broken railing to reach Morass Lifespring or head south towards the Marshy Mire Treasure Cache.
