North of Bill’s Ranch in the Grasslands region of FFVII Rebirth, you can find the Cragshade Lifespring or the first Expedition Intel side-activity you must complete for Chadley. This activity is very short but mandatory to get all Grasslands Regional Data. Here is what you must do to complete it.
Where To Find Expedition Intel 1 in Grasslands
Expedition Intel 1: Cragshade Lifespring is found a short distance north of Bill’s Ranch, as you can see on the following map. If the icon doesn’t appear on your in-game map, make sure you activate Bill’s Ranch Tower.
Even though it’s close to the ranch where Bill takes care of Chocobos, I strongly suggest catching Piko first so you can reach your destination faster. As you can see above, northeast of the Expedition Intel, you can also find Voracious and Venomous Combat Challenge if you want to deal with some Venorats.
How To Analyze the Lifespring
To analyze the Cragshade Lifespring, head to the location I have marked above and look for a rather large blue crystal in front of a pond. It’s pretty impossible to miss due to its size. Get close to it, and you’ll be introduced to the minigame you must complete.
To start the challenge, press the Triangle button while standing near the Lifespring, then get ready for a QTE (quick time event), which involves pressing the same Triangle button three times. The objective is to press the required button when the large circle reaches the smaller one. It’s fairly easy, even for newcomers.
There are three sequences you have to complete, and then the Cragshade Lifespring Intel challenge is complete, unlocking the Kalm: A Recent History Regional Data Intel. Now, I recommend heading west of Swamplands Tower to complete Expedition Intel 2, which is required to unlock the Grasslands Excavation Intel 1.
