Updated May 11, 2024

While exploring the northern coast of the Grasslands area in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, you will find an important landmark and building known as Thorin’s Card Shop. This building may confuse you at first because it’s locked. So you’ll most likely wonder where to find Thorin’s Card Shop key.

Well, don’t bother because there is no such key, and to enter Thorin’s Card Shop, you have to play a specific quest. Here is how to enter Thorin’s Shop in FFVII Rebirth and what you should do when you meet Thorin.

Where To Find Thorin’s Shop in FFVII Rebirth

Thorin’s Card Shop is located on the northern coast of the Grasslands. You can see the landmark’s location on the map below. Notice that it’s north of Tresher Waterwheel and Grassy Viaduct. It’s a solitary house that is quite hard to miss.

Thorin's Card Shop is found on the northern side of Grasslands.

How To Open Thorin’s Card Shop in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

To open the Grasslands Card Shop, you must play the side-quest named A Rare Card Lost. This side quest is unlocked while progressing the story, immediately after you learn how to catch Piko. To start the side-quest, you have to return to Kalm City and check the Community Noticeboard in the central plaza.

From the list of quests, select A Rare Card Lost. Before starting it, however, make sure you defeat all Queen’s Blood players in Kalm City because you’ll need their cards. Basically, A Rare Card Lost side quest is a fetch quest focused on the card game known as Queen’s Blood.

You’ll start by challenging Vash, then Virgil, and finally Thorin. This means you’ll need to know how to play Queen’s Blood and use the cards you won from the Grasslands players. As you progress with this quest, Virgil will tell you that he lost Vash’s card, and now Thorin has it.

At this point, you’ll be able to open Thorin’s Shop. Once inside, talk to Thorin, but before challenging him to win the Chocobo and Moogle Card for Vash, check his stock.

To open Thorin's Shop you need to play A Rare Card Lost side-quest.

If you have enough Gil (and you should), buy every card Thorin has to sell, including the two Booster Packs. Here is his stock:

  • Card 098: Titan
  • Card 108: Fat Chocobo
  • QB Booster Pack: Suppresive Strikers
  • QB Booster Pack: Ruffians

These cards can help you win the game of Queen’s Blood against Thorin. Once you defeat him, you’ll get your hands on the Chocobo and Moogle Card Vash is looking for.

Luckily, Vash agrees to give you the card as a reward for finishing A Rare Card Lost side quest, and Thorin’s Shop will remain open. Unfortunately, he won’t restock on new cards, though.
