Grasslands Guides:

Updated March 6, 2024

Voltaic Canine is the sixth Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Fiend Intel and, in my opinion, the trickiest Combat Challenge in the Grasslands area because it requires you to pressure Thunderclaws. What makes this Combat Assignment different from the rest is that even if you Assess a Thunderclaw, you won’t be able to find its weaknesses.

Without knowing a Tunderclaw’s weakness, it’s pretty hard to figure out how to pressure the beast, and you’ll need to try various spells. But that weakness exists, and in the following guide, I’ll tell you what spell to use to pressure the wolf-like creatures.

Where To Find the FFVII Rebirth Fiend Intel 6 in Grasslands

FF7 Voltain Canine is found on the western side of the desert region in the Grasslands. You can see the exact location marked on my map below. It is northwest of Divine Intel 3: Titan Sanctuary γ and southwest of Phenomenon Intel 3. So mount Piko and head to that location.

Fiend Intel 6 Voltaic Canine Challenge is found on the western side of the Grasslands.

Before engaging the Thunderclaws, make sure you rest at the Chocobo Stop northeast.

How to Pressure a FFV7 Rebirth Tunderclaw

The first objective requires you to pressure an enemy, which is the trickiest part of the sixth Fiend Intel. While I usually would suggest Assessing the target, you don’t have to do it this time because you won’t find any useful information except for the beast’s immunities.

So, instead of Assessing the Thunderclaws, cast a Bio Spell, which releases toxin-related spells. Bio, Biora, and Bioga are unlocked by using the Poison Materia. You need that Materia equipped on one of your playing characters. After you poison a Thunderclaw, you will pressure the creature, and the first objective is complete.

To pressure a Thunderclaw cast Bio Spells to inflict Poison damage.

How To Stagger an Enemy

Staggering an enemy is far easier because you can do it after you pressure the Thunderclaw or simply by attaching the same wolf multiple times. When you pressure a Thunderclaw, you’ll fill the stagger bar faster, so this objective is connected to the first one.

All you need to do is stick to the same target you pressured earlier and continue to attack it.

To stagger the wolves continue to attack them after you poison them.

How to Defeat All Enemies Within the Time Limit

The third Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Fiend Intel 6 objective is also very accessible once you learn that Thunderclaws are weak to Poison Spells because you’ll get the advantage you need to pressure and stagger them faster. This knowledge allows you to complete the Voltaic Canine Challenge with at least 1 minute left on the clock.

To defeat all enemies within the time limit, make sure you poison and stagger all Thunderclaws.
