The Dragon Ball Z Kakarot Big Fish is an essential type of fish you’ll need to find because, besides the fact that it provides cooking ingredients, this type of fish is also required if you want to finish Buu the Bottomless Pit sub-story. Now, if you remember, we have discussed this type of fish in our Fatty Giant Fish location guide, and that’s because one of the ingredients you’ll get by catching a DBZ Kakarot Big Fish is the Fatty Giant Fish, along with some Extra Fatty Giant Fish.
For Buu the Bottomless Pit side-quest, you’ll need the whole fish to feed Buu. Since I won’t spoil the side-quest with additional details on why you need to feed him, let me just tell you that to be able to complete the quest, you’ll also need Premium Golden Venison, Prime Marbled Dino Meat, and Shiny Rice.
We already covered the first two ingredients, so check them out if you need help. The Shiny Rice is easy to find in Nam’s Village, or you can buy it from the food vendor in Satan City. This leaves us with one and final quest item—the fish. Let’s see how to catch one and where to find it while playing the game developed by CyberConnect2 for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
Where To Find Big Fish in DBZ Kakarot
The area you will want to visit to find a Big Fish is the Southeast Mountains Area. Precisely, you’ll want to travel to Goku’s House. Once you get there, make sure to visit the fishing spot located northeast of Goku’s House. You can see it marked on the map below.
Keep in mind that this fishing spot is not the one where we found the Huge Trout. That one is even further up the river.
How To Catch a Big Fish
Now, when you get to the fishing spot, all you have to do is to start fishing. No bait is required, but you may want to try the fishing technique I have explained in my guides for rarer types of fish (Turquoise Trout, Golden Trout, Goliath Catfish, or Scarlet Catfish).
In short, you want to wiggle your character’s tail only when the fish you wish to catch (it should be the largest in the spot) is facing you. The rest must be facing away. If they are all the same size, you’ll need to rely on luck. Your goal is to catch a large violet-blue fish like the one in this picture.
