The Dragon Ball Z Kakarot Goliath Catfish is a catfish you’ll need to catch in DBZ Kakarot for two reasons. First, you’ll need it to complete the Yajirobe and Korin side quest or sub-story, and second, this type of Fish drops a series of cooking ingredients such as Giant Gish Fin Muscle and Lean Giant Fish.

These ingredients are required for cooking in the game developed by CyberConnect2 for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. For the Yajirobe and Korin sub-story, you’ll also need a Scarlet Catfish, which is a bit harder to catch than the Goliath Catfish.

Furthermore, it is worth pointing out that the Goliath Catfish is easier to fish than most of the trouts we have discussed in our guides (Golden Trout, Huge Trout, and Turquoise Trout). Nevertheless, since this is a quest item, I’ll share my favorite fishing spot for the Goliath Catfish below.

Where To Find Goliath Catfish in DBZ Kakarot

Since the first time you’ll be asked to catch a Goliath Catfish is during the Yajirobe and Korin side quest, you’ll want to catch one in the fishing spot indicated by your quest giver. Which, in this case, is Yajirobe. On the map below, I marked the fishing spot for you, though you most likely don’t need a map since Yajirobe indicates this location.

How To Catch a Goliath Catfish

When you get there, all you have to do is to start fishing. You don’t have to use bait to catch a Goliath Catfish, but a good idea is to use the fishing technique we have discussed while trying to catch other fish species and fish-related ingredients (Alien Whitefish Fin Muscle, Fatty Giant Fish).

So how does it work? First, as the name implies, the Goliath Catfish is a large type of Fish. Actually, Catfishes, in general, are pretty large. This means that while fishing, you’ll aim for the largest Fish in the fishing spot. To do that, you want to wiggle your character’s tail only when the Fish you want to catch faces your character.

In this case, aim for the largest one; however, the rest must be facing away. This fishing technique is very useful since it allows you to choose the Fish you want to catch. You’ll also use it for the Scarlet Catfish and to catch Big Fish. Your goal is to pull out a yellow fish with two whiskers, just like the one below.
