Shrine Of Ash or the Ghost Of Tsushima Wind Shrine Of Ash is one of the three Forgotten Shrines introduced by Sucker Punch Productions in the Iki Island DLC, released on August 20, 2021.

The Ghost Of Tsushima Shrine Of Ash allows you to unlock a unique armor skin for Jin Sakai, provided you know how to solve a small puzzle or riddle.

So, below, we’ll go over the Ghost Of Tsushima Wind Shrine Of Ash puzzle, and I’ll tell you how to solve the associated riddle and how to unlock the God of War Armor Skin for Jin.

What Are The Ghost Of Tsushima Forgotten Wind Shrines?

The Ghost Of Tsushima Forgotten Shrines are landmarks you’ll need to discover by exploring Iki Island. 

They also count as collectibles, given the fact that you can see them in the Collection Menu.

How Many Ghost Of Tsushima Wind Shrines Are On Iki Island?

There is a total of 3 Ghost of Tsushima Iki Island Forgotten Shrine locations you’ll need to find and 3 riddles you must solve.

These shrines are:

• Shrine Of Ash (covered below)
• Shrine In Shadow (explained here)
• Blood-Stained Shrine (solved in this guide)

How To Solve The Ghost Of Tsushima Iki Island Forgotten Shrines Riddles?

Each Forgotten Shrine comes with a puzzle consisting of a poem you’ll have to read.

The said poem provides hints on the actions you’ll have to perform while standing close to the shrine. 

What Do You Get For Solving A Ghost Of Tsushima Iki Island Wind Shrines Puzzle?

For each puzzle you solve or for each shrine you complete, you’ll unlock an Armor Skin.

Since there are 3 shrines, you’ll unlock 3 new Armor Sets, as follows:

• Shrine Of Ash unlocks the God of War Armor Skin
• Shrine In Shadow unlocks the Shadow of the Colossus Armor Skin
• Blood-Stained Shrine unlocks the Bloodborne Armor Skin

As you can guess, these are also references (Easter Eggs) to other PlayStation video games.

Where To Find The Shrine Of Ash On Iki Island?

The Shrine Of Ash is found on the eastern side of Iki Island.

As you can see on my map below, it is located north of Yahata Forest and southeast of Tatsu’s Ladder.

Shrine Of Ash Puzzle Solution

Once you approach the location marked above, you’ll find the shrine at the edge of a cliff.

Approach it and read the scroll on the wooden bench.

Tanka Covered In Ash Riddle Solution

The scroll comes with the following riddle:

“In fall, a tree fruits
which grows from seed to sapling,
a stranger and son.
Boy, honor your father’s fight.
Show him the strength of your blade.”

From this poem, you can get two important clues:

• Boy, honor your father’s fight – This line refers to the Sakai Clan Armor
• Show him the strength of your blade – This line refers to showing you strength by pulling out your Katana

Now, in order to solve the riddle, first, you’ll have to equip the Sakai Clan Armor.

This set is unlocked when you finish the main quest named Ghosts from the Past in the second act of the video game.

Once you change your outfit from the menu, place Jin in front of the shrine and pull out your katana.

To do so, swipe your finger on the touchpad from left to right.

This results in a cutscene you’ll most likely love.

When the cutscene ends, the puzzle is solved, and you’ll unlock the God of War Armor Set (pictured above), which includes:

• Helm of War
• Spartan Mask
• Ghost of Sparta Skin
