The Quarry Chapter 9: The Matriarch Collectible Locations

When it comes to collectibles, Chapter 9, The Matriarch, is the trickiest as it features a total of 9 items of interest (Clues, Tarot Cards, and Evidence) you can easily miss unless you stick to the following The Quarry Chapter 9 collectible locations guide.

Some of the collectibles in Chapter 9 of The Quarry are also hard to find if you progress through the game too much because there are several points of no return. Unlike all other collectibles in the game, in Chapter 9, you’ll need to explore four areas where free-roaming is possible. So, below, we’ll tell you where to find all of the following collectibles:

• 4 Tarot Cards
• 1 Evidence
• 4 Clues

Where To Find the Chapter 9 Collectibles in The Quarry

Before starting our guide, it’s worth knowing that in Chapter 9, things can get a bit messy, so we recommend that you follow our walkthrough to make the most out of the events that follow. Furthermore, we’ll outline the exact areas you’ll need to explore to get all nine collectibles; therefore, you’ll want to follow the same order as the one in our guide.

Collectible #1 – Kaylee’s Letter Evidence

The first set of Chapter 9 collectibles in the video game developed by Supermassive Games includes a piece of Evidence and a Tarot Card. Both of them can be collected when playing as Ryan, who eventually gets stabbed.

While being chased, you’ll eventually reach a bedroom. When you enter, turn right and check the small cupboard behind the TV. It is on the right side of a large cabinet with a mirror on its door.

Collectible #2 – Death Tarot Card

Immediately after you collect the Chapter 9 Evidence, look around, and you’ll spot a rather large bed. From your current location, walk towards it, crossing the bedroom, and the Tarot Card should appear on top of the large cabinet.

Collectible #3 – Hunting Trophy Wall Clue (Hackett History Set)

Upon getting the first two Quarry Chapter 9 collectibles above, progress through the story until you get to play as Laura. While Ryan inspects the bedroom, Laura reaches a lobby, and here, you’ll have to be careful not to miss the two Clues and the second Tarot Card.

Immediately after getting to the lobby, you’ll see a staircase. Before going up, check the wall on the right side to see a trophy on the wall next to a round mirror. It is the first clue in this section.

Collectible #4 – Hackett Family Tree Clue (Hackett History Set)

Now, from the location of the trophy, follow the stairs up, and in front of you is a door leading to an office. As soon as you enter, turn left, and on the wall in the distance, you’ll see the trophy of a moose. Next to it is a frame containing a picture showing the Hackett Family Tree. Make sure you inspect it as well.

Collectible #5 – The Sun Tarot Card

Moving on, from the previous collectible, you’ll want to exit the office and then turn right. At the end of the hallway, you’ll see a door on the left side.

Make sure you cross the balcony and enter the next room, but do not get close to the door on the other side because you’ll trigger a cutscene and miss the next collectibles. Instead, walk towards the first window on the left side to spot one of The Quarry Chapter 9 Tarot Cards.

Collectible #6 – Scrapyard Note Clue (Hackett History Set)

For the next batch of Chapter 9 Quarry collectibles, you’ll have to progress the story again and reach the Scrapyard. Here, you’ll explore the area as Ryan. From the starting point, head forward towards the other side of the yard, and on the right side, you’ll see a garage.

Get inside and follow the stairs on the left side to get to the second floor. Now, walk towards the other side of the balcony to find one of the Chapter 9 Clues sitting on a wooden table.

Collectible #7 – Judgement Tarot Card

Great job so far. Now you’ll want to be very careful, or you’ll miss the next two The Quarry Chapter 9 collectibles. After you get the note above, you’ll want to descend the stairs and push the green button on the wooden table in the garage.

This opens the gate to the next section, and here, you’ll want to walk forward in a straight line until you see some containers. On the left side, you should be able to spot a metal ladder.

Head up, and you’ll get on top of the containers; however, you’ll want to immediately turn left and walk towards the other side. If you approach the crane in the distance, you’ll start another cutscene and miss not one but two collectibles. The camera changes as you cross the container’s roof, and you’ll see the Tarot Card pictured below.

Collectible #8 – Discarded Signage Clue (Freakshow Fire Set)

If you successfully collected the Tarot Card above, you have one last collectible to get in this area, and it’s one of The Quarry Clues. To get it, after you grab the Tarot Card, continue moving forward, and you’ll see some stairs leading to the ground.

Upon descending, turn right, and in the distance, you’ll see a board with a green sign on it (pictured below). Make sure you inspect it.

Collectible #9 – The Hierophant Tarot Card

Now that you have found all Quarry Chapter 9 collectibles in the Scrapyard area, you have one last Tarot Card in the basement where Abigail awaits.

Once you reach this section, from the starting location, walk forward, then turn right to see some concrete stairs (not the ladder). Walk towards them, and you’ll discover the collectible when the camera switches.

And that’s about it! You just found all 9 The Quarry Chapter 9 collectibles, but the last batch awaits you in Chapter 10.
