Saints Row 2022 Badlands South is, just like Badlands North, a vast, unclaimed territory with an impressive number of Discoveries you’ll need to complete.
The Saints Row Badlands South Discoveries are required if you aim to get 100% completion in the video game developed by Deep Silver Volition, and they also provide some unique rewards such as Car Parts, Cash and XP.
Similar to all other Discoveries in the game, the Saints Row 5 Badlands South Discoveries won’t appear on your minimap unless you get close to them.
Because of this, you’ll need to fully explore the southwestern region of Santo Ileso, which is not an easy task due to its size.
However, to help you save time, throughout the following Saints Row Discoveries guide, we’ll go over every Discovery in the regions known as Badlands South.
To fill the yellow bar on your in-game phone, you’ll need to complete the following:
- 10 Pallet Pickups
- 8 Lost Wheels
- 5 Weather Stations
- 2 Photo Hunts
- 2 Shooting Gallery
- 1 Hidden History
- 1 Dumpster Diving
- 1 Fast Travel Photo
Saints Row 5 Badlands South Discoveries Map
On the list above, you can notice that Badlands South is the only region in the new Saints Row game to include every type of Discovery.
To help you pinpoint the locations of these activities, below, you can see a custom Badlands South map on which we’ve marked the spots you’ll need to visit.
Due to the size and shape of this area, the map was divided into two parts, so make sure you check both screenshots.
Now, following the order on our maps, let’s see how to complete the 30 Badlands South Discoveries in Saints Row 5.
Where To Find All Badlands South Drug Pallet Pickups
The Badlands South Drug Pallets are the first Discoveries we’ll cover because they are very accessible.
You can see their locations on the first map above.
Discoveries 1-3 (Drug Pallets): Around An Oil Refinery
The first batch of Badlands South Drug Pallet Pickups is scattered around an oil refinery on the northwestern side of the region.
Travel to the location marked above and start exploring the area. You’ll find one Drug Pallet behind an oil well, the second several steps west, in the open area, and the third on the roof of the small building near the large oil tanks.
Discoveries 4-6 (Drug Pallets): Around A Crashed Plane
The next batch of Drug Pallets is around a crashed plane at the location marked on the first map above.
When you get close to the black plane, look on top of it. You’ll see one Pallet near the plane’s tail, another on top of the captain’s cockpit, and the third on the ground, behind the aircraft.
Discoveries 7-10 (Drug Pallets): Along The Train Tracks
For the last batch of Drug Pallets Discoveries in Badlands South, head east towards the location marked on the first map above, where you’ll see a suspended train track.
The Pallets (4 of them) are scattered along the train tracks. As such, start with the area south of the concrete road under the track, and you’ll see the first one on top of a hill, and the second one (first picture below) several steps down the hill, on the other side of the track.
After you find the first two Drug Pallets, head north and cross the concrete road.
The third Pallet sits on the right side of the tracks (between the bushes), and the last one is on the round concrete platform directly under the train tracks (second screenshot below).
Where To Find All Badlands South Lost Wheels
Now that you’ve found all Drug Pallets, let’s move to the 8 Badlands South Lost Wheels locations, again, following the order on the maps above.
Discovery 11 (Lost Wheel): By A Tower
The first Lost Wheel is quite accessible, and you’ll find it on the northern side of Badlands South.
Travel to the location marked on the first map above, and you’ll see it in front of a large wooden tower.
Interact with it to unlock the Crates of Emergency Provisions Tinfoil Car Part.
Discovery 12 (Lost Wheel): Next To A Cabin
Only several meters south of the previous Lost Wheel, you can find another one.
As you can see in my screenshot below, it sits on top of a small hill across the street from a cabin.
When interacting with it, you’ll unlock the Low-Tech Video Recording Suite Tinfoil Car Part.
Discovery 13 (Lost Wheel): On A Hill
From the previous location, move southwest towards the 13th spot marked on the first map above.
Eventually, you’ll spot the next glowing Lost Wheel on top of a hill. Make sure you interact with it to get the Standard Hatchback Body Tinfoil Car Part.
Discovery 14 (Lost Wheel): Next To A Suspended Boat
Immediately after finding the previous Badlands South Lost Wheel, pay close attention to the valley south of your current location, and you’ll see another Discovery.
As you can see below, this one sits near a suspended boat.
If you open it, you’ll get the Enormous Ball Of Tinfoil Part.
Discovery 15 (Lost Wheel): Near An Electricity Tower
Once more, from your previous location, look southeast, and on top of the next hill, you’ll spot another glowing Lost Wheel.
Drive or walk towards it, and you’ll find it next to an electricity tower by the road.
Open it to get the Tinfoil Car Radio Surveillance Scanner.
Discovery 16 (Lost Wheel): On A Bus
The next Badlands South Lost Wheel is also very accessible, but to get it, you’ll need to drive towards the southeastern side of the region.
Use the second map above to mark the location, and when you arrive at the destination, you’ll see a small lake.
The Lost Wheel is on a bus near the lake, and it unlocks the Lightweight Frame Bandaged Car Part. Try jumping on the hood from the small hill nearby to get it.
Discovery 17 (Lost Wheel): Next To A Camp
From the previous location, follow the dirt path north towards the 17th location marked on the second map above.
Eventually, you’ll get to a camping spot where you can find the Lost Wheel pictured below.
Interact with it to unlock the Prehistoric Skull Car Part.
Discovery 18 (Lost Wheel): On Top Of A Hill
Finally, head south from the previous location and move up the hill.
Look on the left side of the dirt path, and you’ll see another Lost Wheel sitting on top of a rocky hill.
Open it to get the Scuffed-Up Front Wheel Car Part.
Where To Find The Reboot Badlands South Weather Stations
Badlands South also features 5 Weather Stations that count as Discoveries. As you probably know, you don’t have to interact with them, but you’ll have to make sure they appear on your in-game map.
As such, you’ll want to get close to them. Let’s see where they are.
Discovery 19 (Weather Station): Near A Mine
The first Badlands South Weather Station in Saints Row 2022 is on top of a mine at the location marked on the second map above.
Look for it by the warehouse and make sure you get close to make it count as found.
Discovery 20 (Weather Station): Outside The City
After finding the previous Weather Station, you can use it to launch yourself into the air and move northeast towards the 20th Discovery on the second map above.
Look for the next Weather Station (pictured below) on a field outside the city.
Discovery 21 (Weather Station): On An Island
Using the previous Weather Station, launch yourself into the air and fly southeast toward the island near the region’s border.
When you get close, you’ll see the third Weather Station next to a dead tree.
Discovery 22 (Weather Station): Near An Abandonded Town
For the next Weather Station (also marked on the second map above), you have to drive west from the previous Discovery.
You’ll find the Station on top of a hill at the entrance to an abandoned town.
Discovery 23 (Weather Station): In A Parking Lot
The last Weather Station is also the most important, yet easy to find.
Head to the 23rd location marked on the first map above, and you’ll see it next to a parking spot.
This Discovery actually counts as one of the Badlands North Weather Stations, which means that if you have a missing Discovery in Badlands North, it’s actually this Weather Station.
Badlands South Photo Hunts Locations
The next category of Discoveries we’ll cover in our guide is the Photo Hunts, and in Badlands South, you need to complete two of them.
Discovery 24 (Photo Hunt): Badlands Windmill
The Badlands Windmill Photo Hunt is found in the northwestern corner of the region, northwest of the fifth Weather Station above.
Use the first map above to find it, and when you get close to the location, I have marked you’ll see a moving windmill by the road.
Pull out your in-game phone and use its camera to take a photo.
Discovery 25 (Photo Hunt): Rocks 66
The second Photo Hunt in Badlands South is close to the southern border, as you can see on the first map above.
Again, reach the location I have marked and look for some colored rocks arranged on a hill. If you pay close attention, you can notice that they form the number 66.
As you can guess, you need to photograph them to complete the Photo Hunt.
Badlands South Dumpster Diving Location
Badlands South also includes one Dumpster Diving Discovery you must find. The Dumpster Diving, or the hidden Golden Dumpster, is very accessible because it’s close to Dusty’s Clothing Store.
The said store is in the southwestern corner of the map at the 26th location. Look for the Dumpster behind the gas station. This Dumpster rewards you with $2000 and 300 XP.
How To Complete The Badlands South Hidden History
In the Saints Row Badlands South area, you also need to complete the Route 66 McQuarry Hidden History, which involves an important landmark.
To finish the Hidden History, you’ll have to find and interact with five signs scattered around a search area.
First, head to the 27th location marked on the first map above, then start from the road west of the icon.
The first sign you can find is in the back of the Casino Motel (first screenshot below). It sits in front of a shipwreck.
Now follow the road north, and the second sign is next to some painted cars on the left side of the road (second screenshot).
Finally, cross the street, and you’ll see the large welcome sign in front of the Cafe, followed by the fourth on the hill in front of the burrito restaurant. The fifth sign, as you can see in the third screenshot, is in front of the large snake on the path leading up the hill.
Upon interacting with all five signs, head back to the large welcome sign in front of the Jackknife Cafe and use it to complete the Hidden History.
Badlands South Fast Travel Photo Location
Only several meters northeast of the Hidden Story, you can find the Badlands South Fast Travel Photo Discovery you can complete unlocking a new fast-travel location.
It is the 28th Discovery on the first map above, and to complete it, you need to photograph the Lone Wolf.
The Lone Wolf is a rather large statue by the road. Use your in-game phone camera to take a picture of it.
Badlands South Shooting Galleries Locations
The last two Discoveries in this area are the Shooting Galleries you can complete by finding and shooting the targets within the marked areas.
Discovery 29 (Shooting Gallery): Airplane Grave
The Airplane Grave Shooting Gallery is close to the Fast Travel Photo, as you can notice on our map above.
When you get close to its location, approach the gallery from the east and look for the following targets:
- On top of the ramp with tires on it
- Next to some tires on the plane’s wing
- On the plane’s tail
- On the other side of the wooden board (opposed to the first target)
- On the side of the yellow bus near the wooden ramp
- At the rear of the yellow bus next to the fifth target
- On the red boat in the water
- On the plane’s wing (left of the previous target)
- Next to the plane’s front engine (left of target 8)
- On the dock by the water
- Behind the yellow bus by the dock
- On the plane’s tail near the water
- Under the plane’s engine, behind the toilet
- Under the same engine, but on the right side, as opposed to the previous target
- On top of the wooden ramp in the middle of the gallery, between the tires
Assuming you need additional help with the targets, check the screenshots below.
Discovery 30 (Shooting Gallery): Junkyard
The last of the 30 Saints Row Badlands South Discoveries is another Shooting Gallery named Junkyard.
It is a bit easier than the previous one, and it’s found on the eastern border of Badlands South, as you can see on the first map above.
Approach the gallery from the south and look for the following targets:
- Above some tires on the left side of the blue container
- On top of some colored stones as you enter the gallery
- On the right side of a blue container opposed to the 4th and 5th targets
- On the right side of a blue container above a dumpster
- Also, on the right side of the blue container, but to the right of the previous target
- Under the suspended, rusted truck
- On the left side of the ramp
- On the right side of the same ramp
- Near the pink fridge on the right side of the previous target
- Under the covered area on the right side of the pink fridge
- On the toilet in the same area as the last target
- Behind some tires, on the right side of the toilet
- On top of the containers in the middle of the junkyard
- Under the previous target, behind some sacks
- Under the rusted car that looks like a ramp, behind some sacks
Again, for additional help, check the following screenshots.
