Tunic The East Forest Golden Chest Locations

Tunic East Forest Golden Chests can be looted early in the video game published by Finji, or at least most of them. Two chests will require you to have the Magic Orb and the Teleport Dash equipped, so keep that in mind. There is a total of 19 chests in the East Forest that will reward you with the following:

• Game Currency
• Potion x2
• Potion Shard
• Effigy
• Golden Coin
• Flower
• Pink Fruit
• Explosive Bomb
• Fire Bomb x2
• Ice Bomb

Some of the East Forest Gold Chests are out of sight, and others seem impossible to reach, but with the help of the guide below, you’ll get all 19 in no time.

Where To Find All East Forest Gold Chests in Tunic

The entrance leading to the East Forest is on the east side of the Overworld area, as shown on the following map.

You’ll know you’re in the right place because of the brown sign saying East Forest (press A on Xbox near the sign). Go through the entrance, and you’ll find yourself in the East Belltower, where you have two chests, part of the East Forest area.

Golden Chest #1: At the End of a Hidden Passage

Once in the East Belltower, go through the hidden passage between the two walls left of the stairs. You’ll find the first Chest, which contains Game Currency, at the end of the passage, as shown in the next image.

Golden Chest #2: On Top of a Few Stairs

After you’re done with Chest #1, get out of the hidden passage, head left, hug the wall near the narrow staircase, and follow the linear path to the east. You’ll soon see a ladder you need to use to drop down next to a Fox Shrine where you can save the game.

Go outside to the East Forest, then go down the stairs and follow the road until you come to a crossroad where you can see a brown sign that says Hero’s Grave. Go through the entrance to the left, clear the room of enemies, and go up the ladder. Once up, follow the linear path to get outside, where you can find the second Chest on top of a few stairs.

Golden Chests #3 & 4: Next to Some Bushes & Behind a Wall

Upon looting the previous Chest, get back to the Hero’s Grave sign and go in the direction pointed by the sign. You’ll soon reach a golden plate (fast travel) on top of some stairs and a Fox Shrine with a ladder near it. So, up the ladder, you go.

Deal with the enemies, open the Chest next to the bushes and then the one in the corner hidden behind the wall, like in the following screenshot.

Golden Chests #5 & 6: On the Left of Some Stairs & Near Some Urns

After taking the goodies from the previous two chests, go up another level with the help of the ladder nearby. Then, proceed forward and go through the gateway. If the gate is closed, climb the ladders on the left and pull the lever.

You’ll find the next two Chests inside Guardhouse 1; one Chest is on the left of the stairs, and the other is hidden in the corner near some urns. The two chests will get you a Potion Shard and Game Currency.

Golden Chest #7: In the Middle of a Room

Go through the entrance on top of the stairs in the room with Chests #5 & 6, and then fight the enemies you encounter. If it’s your first time here, you’ll encounter a boss who is not that hard to beat.

Once you have dealt with your enemies, go to the next room, where you’ll find East Forest Chest #7 right in the middle. Get the Potion inside the Chest and move on; no time for a break.

Golden Chest #8: Near a Bell

Go up the stairs behind Chest #7, then up the ladder in the corner, and go through the corridor leading to the upper level of the East Belltower. The next Chest is down the stairs near the bell, as seen in the image below.

Golden Chest #9: Across Some Wooden Boards

Now, return to the golden plate (fast travel) near the Fox Shrine and go near the ladder. But instead of climbing the ladder, hug the wall and go up the nearby ramp you can barely see between the two walls.

Once up, defeat the enemies with caution. I suggest using the Magic Orb or explosives on the green foe with the big shield. Then, proceed to the next area by walking along the right ledge.

Make your way forward and cross the wooden boards to reach the ninth Chest, from where you can get a Fire Bomb.

Golden Chest #10: Near Some Bushes

Go back to the golden plate again and head inside the building with the two fox statues at the entrance. You’ll find the next Tunic Chest near some bushes and a ladder.

Golden Chest #11: Through the Hidden Passage Between Some Trees

After looting Chest #10, get back outside on the way you came from and head left on the path suggested by the brown sign to reach another area. Now go up the stairs and pass through the hidden passage between the trees to reach the eleventh Chest, containing an Effigy.

Golden Chest #12: Up Some Stairs Near the Edge

Go back through the hidden passage upon opening Chest #11 and head left once out. Make your way up to another Chest with the help of the stairs to the left. You get more Game Currency from the Chest near the edge.

Golden Chest #13: Next to Three Big Swords

Get back to the golden plate one more time, turn toward the Fox Shrine, and go into the forest through the small passage to the left. You’ll find the thirteenth Chest next to three big swords. You have Pink Fruit inside the Chest.

Golden Chest #14: Up a Ramp

Now go through the trees near Chest #13 and make your way to the ramp leading to the next Chest. Go up the ramp and get the Game Currency.

Golden Chests #15 & 16:Near Water

Return to Chest #14 and go toward the golden plate, but instead of turning left, go through the trees on the right.

Then, go down a couple of ladders to reach the Lower Forest and proceed forward to find the next two Golden Chests between some trees near the water.

Open Chest #15, which is on the upper level, to get an Explosive Bomb, and then get to the bottom level by going down the ramp near the bridge to the east, as shown in the image above. Loot Chest #16 on the bottom level to get a Golden Coin.

Golden Chests #17 & 18: On a Broken Bridge

Cross the eastern bridge from Chests #15 & 16, then go to the hook on the right side. Now use the Magic Orb to get to the hook on the other side of the broken bridge, where you’ll find Chest #17, containing Game Currency.

Then, Teleport Dash to Chest #18 and open it to get a Flower, which you can use to upgrade your health bar at any Fox Shrine.

Golden Chest #19: Through the Hidden Passage Behind Some Stairs

Use the Magic Orb and the Teleport Dash to cross back the broken bridge from where you got Chests #17 & 18 and proceed forward to enter Guardhouse 2. Clear the room of enemies and go through the hidden passage behind the stairs to reach Chest #18. Get the Ice Bomb from the Chest, and you’re done.
