Tunic Overworld Golden Chest Locations

Tunic Overworld Golden Chests are the trickiest to loot in the video game published by Finji because a lot of them are well hidden or seemingly impossible to reach. The Overworld Golden Chests are also the most numerous, with a total of 44. It makes sense, considering the Overworld is the biggest area in the game. The good part is that you have a lot of rewards waiting for you, like the following:

To reach some of the Overworld Gold Chests, you need the Magic Orb and the Teleport Dash.

Where To Find All Overworld Gold Chests in Tunic

The game starts in the Overworld area, and you’ll keep coming back here all the time, unlocking new smaller zones within. Also, to reach some places, you need the Magic Orb and the Teleport Dash, as I previously mentioned. It would be easier to go for the chests after you get the two items and have access to the Overworld area so that you can get all the loot in one run.

However you decide to do it, here is the Overworld Golden Chests map with the locations of all 44 chests to get you started.

Golden Chests #1, 2 & 3: Solve the Door Puzzle

For the first three Gold Chests, you have to go to the southeastern corner of the Overworld map at the corresponding location marked on the map above. Then, position yourself in front of the door with lines on it, on top of the stairs, as shown in the next image.

Now, solve the door puzzle with the help of your D-Pad. Follow the lines starting from one of the diamond shapes and press the correspondent button on your D-Pad. Here is the solution for the diamond on the right side of the door (you don’t need both) if you are struggling: DOWN, RIGHT, UP, LEFT, UP, and RIGHT.

Loot the three chests inside to get Game Currency, Blue Fruit, and an Ability Card that drops your health bar to 1 but makes your sword light enemies on fire.

Golden Chest #4: Between Some Bushes

Go down the ladder near where you solved the door puzzle before to find the fourth Gold Chest between some bushes on the beach.

Golden Chest #5: At the Top of a Few Stairs

Return where you solved the door puzzle for the first three chests and climb the ladder to the west. Once up, you’ll see the fifth Chest at the top of a few stairs.

Golden Chest #6: In a Corner

Go to the sixth Chest marked on the map above, a short distance from Chest #5, up two ladders, and then down some stairs. The Chest is in a corner where a wall meets some stairs, as you can see in the following screenshot.

Golden Chest #7: Through the Passage Between Some Trees

Go back to Chest #5 and climb up one level with the help of the near ladder. Then, proceed through the passage between the trees to reach the next Chest containing an Effigy.

Golden Chest #8: Throw an Explosive at the Wall Next to Some Flowers

For the eighth Overworld Chest, you must first go to the only Fox Shrine in the area, a little south of the SEALED TEMPLE (marked on the map). From the Fox Shrine, go south down the stairs and turn left to see more stairs leading down.

You can see three little flowers on the ground near the wall just before the stairs. Throw an explosive near the flowers to reveal a secret passage leading to the eighth Chest. You have a Hot Pepper inside the Chest.

Golden Chest #9: Near a Waterfall

Now, make your way to the northeastern corner of the Overworld area for the next Chest. Again, use the map above for assistance. You have to climb two ladders for Chest #9 (if you come from the south), and once at the correspondent location, you can loot the Chest (near the waterfall) to get a Blue Fruit.

Golden Chest #10: Behind a Waterfall

Go down the two ladders from Chest #9 and head left on the narrow passage leading behind the waterfall where the tenth Chest awaits. This hidden Chest gets you some Game Currency.

Golden Chest #11: On a Pillar

For the next Gold Chest, you first have to get on the small bridge east of the SEALED TEMPLE gate. Then, use the Magic Orb to get to the hook on the eastern pillar and cross the wooden boards to reach the Chest on another pillar. You have a Potion Shard inside the Chest.

Golden Chest #12: Near a Small Bridge Made of Wooden Boards

Make your way to the twelfth Chest with the help of the map above. You’ll find the Chest near a small bridge made of wooden boards. Another Potion Shard is your reward for looting the Chest.

Golden Chest #13: In the Old House

The next Chest is right in the OLD HOUSE marked on the map above. You can’t miss it; the house is in the middle of the Overworld area, and the next Chest is inside, containing Game Currency.

Golden Chest #14: On a Patch of Sand

Now make your way to the biggest beach in the south of the Overworld area. If you look carefully at the map, you can see the ladder that takes you to the beach. One of those green enemies with a big shield and spear guards the ladder, as you can see in the following screenshot.

Get down to the beach and then go to the fourteenth Chest on a patch of sand in the water. You get more Game Currency from the Chest.

Golden Chests #15 & 16: Under a Bridge

Upon dealing with Chest #14, move to the next beach (to the east) using the Teleport Dash or go behind the waterfall near the ladder from before. Then go to Gold Chests #15 & 16 marked on the map above. One Chest is under the bridge, and for the other, you have to go through the entrance under the same bridge.

Golden Chest #17: Through a Small Secret Passage

Return to the ladder you used to get to Chest #14 and go through the small secret passage in the wall to the left.

Keep going forward until you reach the next Chest and open it to get Ivy, which is a consumable that briefly buffs your defense.

Golden Chests #18 & 19: On and Under the Same Bridge

West from Chest #14, you can find Golden Chests #18 &19, one on a bridge and the other under the same bridge. You can easily get to both chests with the help of the ladder you used to get to the beach. The chests contain an Effigy and a Pressed Petal.

Golden Chest #20: On a Broken Bridge

After looting the previous chests, go to the west beach for Chest #20; use the map above if you need help. You have to Teleport Dash on the broken bridge to get the Chest containing Game Currency.

Golden Chests #21 & 22: Near Two Turrets

Head to the next two Chests, a short trip north from Chest #20. You’ll find the chests near two turrets, and to reach one of them, you have to use the Teleport Dash. The rewards inside the chests are a Lure and a Golden Coin.

Golden Chests #23, 24 & 25: Above a Waterfall

Climb the ladder on the beach near Chests #21&22 to spot three Gold Chests above the waterfall. You have to use the Magic Orb to reach the chests so that you don’t have to take a longer way.

The chests will get you some Game Currency and an Ability Card that gives your enemies a small chance to drop healing hearts.

Golden Chests #26 & 27: In the Customization Room and Behind a Breakable Wall

Now, head towards the Golden Chests #26 & 27 with the help of the map above. However, when you reach the said location, there is no chest in sight. That is because the two chests are hidden in two different places.

To get to Chest #26, you have to throw an explosive at the wall near the three flowers after climbing the first set of stairs.

Chest #27 is in the Customization Room. You can access it with the help of the stairs behind the trees, as shown in the image above. The two chests will reward you with a Golden Coin and 4 Explosive Bombs.

Golden Chests #28, 29 & 30:In a Reddish-Lighted Room

Make your way west after looting Chests #26 & 27. You’ll soon reach the waterfall from where you got three chests not long ago. Enter the room near the ramps and the small bridge made of wooden boards to look for the next three Chests.

The chests are not in the first room but the next, accessible through the entrance in the corner. You’ll get Game Currency, Explosive Bombs, and a Flower from the chests in the reddish-lighted room.

Golden Chests #31, 32, 33 & 34: Near a Windmill

The next stop is the big windmill a little northwest of the OLD HOUSE, where you can get four Chests. One of the chests is hidden on the left side between the trees and the windmill. The other three are not actually chests but items that can be bought from the shop inside the windmill.

The Chest contains Game Currency, and the items inside the shop are two Potions and a Golden Coin.

Golden Chest #35: West of the Windmill

Gold Chest #35 is a short trip west of the windmill from before, and it contains Blue Fruit that slightly restores your Blue Bar.

Golden Chests #36 & 37: Near a Telescope and Inside a Room

Make your way to the next two Chests with the help of the map above and with the tip that you have to come either from the West Garden or the Dark Tomb to reach them.

Chest #36 is near a telescope, and Chest #37 is inside the room with the entrance near the West Garden brown sign. The chests will get you Game Currency and a Fox Doll that you can use at any Fox Shrine to upgrade your defense.

Golden Chest #38: Near a Hook

For Golden Chest #38, you first have to get to the stairs above Chest #36. Use the Magic Orb to get there fast by grappling to the hook in front of the stairs, or you’ll have to take a longer route. Climb the stairs and follow the ledge to the right to reach Chest #38, located near a hook.

Golden Chests #39 & 40: Near the Entrance to the Quarry

Now, make your way to the northwestern corner of the Overworld area, near the entrance to the Quarry. Defeat the enemies around the fire and collect the next two Chests.

As you can see in the image above, you have to use the Magic Orb on one of the hooks to get the second Chest, depending on where you came from. The chests contain a Hot Pepper and an Ability Card that turns your health potions into energy (Blue Bar) potions.

Golden Chest #41: On a Broken Stone Bridge

For Overworld Chest #41, you have to go a little northwest of the earlier visited windmill, which has a shop inside. The Chest is located on a broken stone bridge and contains Game Currency.

Golden Chest #42: Near a Wooden Bridge

Another Chest is found near a wooden bridge between the SEALED TEMPLE and the DARK TOMB (check the map for assistance). Inside the Chest, you have a Fang that you can use at any Fox Shrine to upgrade your attack.

Golden Chest #43: Above the Dark Tomb

You can find Golden Chest #43 above the DARK TOMB entrance, slightly to the left. Depending on where you come from at the said location, you might need to use the Magic Orb to reach the Chest containing a Flower.

Take the Flower at a Fox Shrine, along with some Game Currency, and upgrade your health bar.

Golden Chest #44: Near a Gate

The last Gold Chest is a couple of meters south of the OLD HOUSE, near a gate, hidden behind a wall. Get the Explosive Bombs from the Chest, and you are done.
