In Alan Wake 2, as you progress through Return 3: Local Girl chapter, you’ll find yourself in Watery after following the cryptic message of a mysterious manuscript page from Alan. Before you can explore the Trailer Park and Kalevala Knights Workshop, you’ll need to make your way through Coffee World.
While exploring, you may come across a Cult Stash near the Houtari Well. The stash features a drawing of Mr. Drippy, Coffee World’s mascot, along with a cryptic question: “What hides behind the smile?” Apart from this, there are no other clues available to solve the puzzle. So, here is a step-by-step guide to unlocking the Coffee World Cult Stash.
Where To Find the Houtari Well Cult Stash in Watery
This Cult Stash can be found behind the Huotari Well, close to Espresso Express and the locked gate leading to the Kalevala Knights Workshop. Look for a tree marked with a triangular cultist symbol.
How To Solve the Houtari Well Cult Stash Puzzle in Alan Wake 2
If you have managed to obtain the screwdriver during the main story, there is no need to waste your time attempting to unlock the stash with it. Rest assured, it will not be successful, as a key is the only thing that will grant you access to this stash.
First things first, let’s use the clues we have from the stash and the hand-drawn picture of Mr. Drippy to help us find one of his representations. We can see his face all over Coffee World Park, but there is a particular giant statue near the lighted gazebo that looks exactly like the drawing.
To reach the gazebo, head southeast from the location of the Houtari Well Cult Stash. Once you reach the gazebo, go behind Mr. Drippy, and you’ll find the Coffee World Stash Key on the ground. Pick it up and return to the stash.
Interact with the stash, hover over the lock, and click it, then select the Coffee World Stash Key to unlock it. Inside, you’ll find Handgun Ammo, Shotgun Shells, and an Arrow Bolt for the Hunting Crossbow.
