Shinji Yoshikawa is a Sniper Elite 5 merciless submarine commander in the Pacific theater who has been reportedly spotted in St. Nazaire. His wanted death comes with a kill challenge to complete: kill Shinji Yoshikawa with a Japanese weapon (Type 100 or Type 14 Nambu).
In exchange, you will be rewarded with the Type 14 Pistol that you can use to customize your loadout for future missions.
Even though the task seems simple, in the following guide, we will show you where to find Shinji Yoshikawa and how to kill him with a Japanese weapon located around his location in the video game developed by Rebellion.
Where To Find Rubble and Ruin Shinji Yoshikawa in Sniper Elite 5
The intel confirms that Shinji Yoshikawa can be found inside the Occupied Town Hall, in the northwest part of the map.
After you start the Rubble And Ruin Mission, make your way through the Southern ruins, then the Western Ruins until you reach the Northern Ruins, following the same route as in the image marked above.
At the top of the most northern building, you will discover one of the Resistance safe houses with the SMG Workbench that you can collect by climbing the broken white floor. Through the holes in the building’s roof, you can see the whole Town Hall, packed with nazi soldiers and an armored vehicle in the front.
Take your binoculars out and start scanning and identifying all nazi soldiers around and inside the building. On the first floor of the Town Hall, on the right side, through an open window, you will find Shinji Yoshikawa speaking with another nazi officer.
Now, there are different ways to kill Shinji Yoshikawa with a Japanese Weapon, and we will show you two methods to do it. I recommend you save the game from this moment; if something goes wrong, try again without restarting the game and loading from this step.
How To Kill Shinji Yoshikawa With a Type 100 Weapon
On this floor, you can find both Japanese weapons you need to use to complete the kill challenge. The Type 14 Nambu Silenced version can be found on a crate covered with a white cloth, and the Type 100 leaning against the wooden roof next to one of the holes.
Pick up the Type 100 Rifle, aim at Shinji Yoshikawa’s head through the window, and shoot single-fire shots for better accuracy and to avoid the weapon’s recoil.
In case you run out of ammo, you can load back the save game we just created before and try again until you get the headshot or the kill. If you have trouble completing the kill challenge using this method, we will try a conservative one.
How To Kill Yoshikawa With a Type 14 Weapon
After you have identified all the nazi soldiers, take them out one by one using a silenced sniper rifle. Also, destroy the armored vehicle using the two Panzerfausts that can be found inside the building: one on the ground floor and the second in a crate on the first floor that you need to pick the lock to open.
After you have cleared the area, look for the Townhall Office Key that can be found on a nazi officer or in a crate on Town Hall’s ground floor, behind the stairs. Climb the stairs and unlock the Townhall Office to find Shinji Yoshikawa with the other officer.
On the left side of the hallway is a crate with the Type 14 Pistol on the side you need for this kill challenge. This gun has only five bullets, so make sure you don’t miss your target.
If you don’t feel confident enough in your aim, use the “Pacify” action on him first, leaving him unconscious, then shoot at his head to complete the kill challenge.
