Lighthouse Nursery Rhyme in Alan Wake 2 is one of the eight nursery rhyme puzzles in Watery that you can find and solve to earn a shiny new charm for Saga’s bracelet. So, during Return 3: Local Girl chapter, make sure to head up to the Lighthouse near the Trailer Park. You won’t want to miss this Nursery Rhyme right on the cliff’s edge.
It’s easy to overlook this location since it’s optional, and there are no story objectives that lead you up the hill. However, if you pass it by, you’ll be missing out on the Lighthouse Cult Stash, a Watery Alex Casey Lunchbox, and this intriguing puzzle. So, I highly recommend making your way up here.
How To Solve the Watery Lighthouse Nursery Rhyme Puzzle
Once you’ve made it to the spot indicated on the map and taken a good look at the Nursery Rhyme drawn on the ground, you’ll find this riddle written on a sheet of paper:
“An old Watcher of the Sea
before his demise
Cursed the waters that
ruined his eyes
So he played a trick on the
Ocean deep
The waves to fight and
havoc to wreak
And in doing that wrong,
lost his soul’s song.“
To solve this rhyme, you’ll need two new dolls: the Trickster Doll and the Wise Elder doll. To find them, make your way to the entrance of the Lighthouse, and you’ll spot three dolls waiting for you. The Mother Doll is by the railing, while the Trickster Doll and the Wise Elder Doll are on a ledge under the window. If you have already solved the Trailer Park Nursery Rhyme, then you should already have the Wise Elder Doll in your inventory.
Once you have both necessary dolls, return to the Nursery Rhyme scene. Place the Wise Elder doll on the eye symbol, representing the “old Watcher with ruined eyes“. Then, place the Trickster Doll on the waves symbol, representing “a trick on the Ocean deep“.
As with other Nursery Rhymes, you may see a dark visual distortion flickering across your screen, which indicates that something has changed – a new charm has appeared somewhere alongside some cultists.
This charm is called the Lighthouse Charm and is quite unique, as it increases the maximum health restored in Safe Havens. It goes really well with Logan’s Charm, which boosts your overall maximum health. However, the charm is not exactly nearby. You must follow a black trail down the hill to the main road to find it.
So, in order to get my hands on this charm, I had to deal with not one, but two Taken that decided to show up around the Lighthouse after I cracked the rhyme. After you take them down, follow the dark trail that leads you past the Lighthouse break room, down the stairs, and onto the main road.
From there, you’ll come across a path on the right side, just before the bridge leading back to Downtown Watery. As you make your way through some water and under a fallen branch, you’ll eventually reach the location of the Lighthouse Charm.
