Horizon Forbidden West Thornmarsh Survey Drone is the third Drone collectible you can retrieve while looking for Demeter in the video game developed by Guerrilla Games, immediately after Graypeak and Stand Of The Sentinels Drones.

Luckily, for the Thornmarsh Drone, you don’t need to deal with any machines, which makes it a bit easier to collect; however, you need to follow a specific path so Aloy can reach it.

Where To Find the Thornmarsh Survey Drone

On my map below, you can notice that Survey Drone Thornmarsh is south of Long Coast Relic Ruins and northeast of Thornmarsh Settlement.

When you approach the location marked on my map, you’ll see a swampy area that is also corrupted. If you look up, you should be able to spot the Survey Drone flying around, stopping from time to time in front of some wooden pillars or tree trunks.

Let’s see how you can get to it.

How To Get the Thornmarsh Drone

The moment you enter the Drone’s area, look around, and you’ll spot a wooden pillar you can climb. It should be northwest of the Drone’s icon on your map, close to the large painted tree trunk.

You can see it above, and you can also notice that it has a small wooden platform on top of it. Jump and double-tap X to get to the grappling point and pull yourself up. Now, you’ll want to jump and double-tap X again to get to the platform on top of the large tree trunk nearby.

Next, turn southwest to spot one last Grappling Point on the next tree trunk. Again, jump and double-tap X to get on top of the said trunk. There are two platforms here, so make sure you get on top of the one that is closest to the flying Drone.

When you get on top, be patient and wait for the Drone to arrive. As with all other drones, it follows a fixed path, and it will stop in front of this trunk, allowing you to jump and grab it.

After jumping on the Drone, wait for Aloy to pull it to the ground, then loot it to obtain Module 549.

How To Connect Drone Module 549

Like all other Modules you retrieve from Survey Drones, Horizon Forbidden West Drone Module 549 must be connected to the terminal in GAIA’s Room at The Base.

Fast travel to that location, then access the terminal next to GAIA. In my screenshot above, you can notice that Survey Drone Module 549 allows you to change GAIA’s room appearance and turn it into a swampy area.
