Horizon Forbidden West Cinnabar Sands Tallneck is one of the 6 Tallnecks featured in the video game published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The Cinnabar Sands Tallneck is also the first Tallneck you’ll encounter since it’s found in the second area you’ll get to explore as Aloy while moving west.
When you approach the giant machine, you’ll notice that things have changed since the previous game, and reaching its top is no longer an easy task. That’s because the Tallnecks now include small puzzles or riddles you have to figure out.
Where To Find the Cinnabar Sands Tallneck
Let’s start with the Tallneck’s location in the center of the second region, as you can see on my map—specifically southeast of Plainsong Settlement and northwest of No Man’s Land Relic Ruins.

You’ll see a large satellite dish when you approach the Tallneck location I have marked for you. Getting on top of the Dish is your next objective because from there, you can jump on the Tallneck.

However, the trick here is that you also have to move the Satellite Dish. This procedure requires some specific steps you have to follow.
How To Climb the Tallneck Dish
To climb up the Dish, start by shooting the clamp on the yellow ladder. You can see it in my screenshot below, and once you do this, you’ll be able to get to the first floor.

Now, head up the next ladder to spot a panel, then climb a third ladder that’s on the right side. Next, follow the stairs on the left side, then lower the yellow ladder on the right (pictured).

Descend the ladder you just lowered, and midway, turn right to see the ledge pictured below. Your goal is to get to the platform in the distance.

On the said platform, you’ll see an Energy Cell. Pick it up, then drop it to the ground. Now, look under the satellite dish for a terminal to insert the Energy Cell.

This will restore the power to the console, so head back to the ladder you unlocked by shooting the clamp and keep moving up. Now, you’ll want to activate the small green console on the second floor. It will make the whole Satelite Dish move. Once it’s stable, head left and jump on the first platform, then use the grappling points (pictured) to keep moving around the Dish.

After climbing the second ladder you lowered earlier, you’ll have to untangle the Dish. You can do this by shooting both clamps on the wires in front of you.

When the Dish is moving one last time, you’ll be able to see the last ladder you need to climb to reach the top.
How To Override the Cinnabar Sands Tallneck
Now that you reached the top, check your radar, and you’ll see a jumping point to the east. It is marked on my map below, and the idea here is to sprint, jump, and glide on the Tallneck. Specifically, you’ll want to grab the ledges on the machine’s neck.

Before doing so, be patient and wait for the Tallneck to get close to the platform’s location. When you grab one of the ledges, you’ll want to start climbing the neck.

The path is straightforward and doesn’t require too much effort. Finally, when you get on top of the Horizon Forbidden West Cinnabar Sands Tallneck, you have to override it by interacting with the switch in the middle of its head. Good job; now, how about trying The Stand Of The Sentinels Tallneck?
