Horizon Forbidden West Signal Towers Lenses are collectibles you can find very early in the video game developed by Guerrilla Games. Although you don’t need all HZFW Signal Towers Lenses for the Recovered 5 Different Collectables Trophy, by collecting all Signal Lenses, you’ll receive some important rewards that can help you later in the game.

Therefore, even though they are not mandatory for the Platinum Trophy, it’s best to get the Horizon 2 Forbidden West Signal Tower Lenses the moment Aloy reaches the first area in the west.

To help you with this task, throughout the guide below, we’ll go over all 6 Horizon Forbidden West Signal Tower locations, and I’ll tell you how to climb them and how to use the Lenses you find on top of each tower. Before heading towards the first Signal Tower, here are several essential aspects you should be aware of:

  • All 6 Signal Towers are available in the first area (The Daunt), so there is no need to look for them anywhere else.
  • To complete a Signal Tower, you have to reach its top and collect the Lens that is waiting for you on the roof.
  • You can finish all the Towers the moment you get to the first area because there is no special equipment required.
  • You can also approach the Towers after the story or after you get the flying mount.
  • If you wish to complete them faster, you can use the flying mount and land on top of each tower.
  • These are small challenges that test Alloy’s climbing skills.
  • Some Signal Towers in Horizon Forbidden West are related to side-quests.

Great, so now that you know the basics, let’s see how to climb all HZFW Signal Towers and get the 6 Lenses in no particular order.

West Chainscrape Northeastern Signal Tower Lens Of Morning

The first Horizon 2 Forbidden West Signal Tower you should approach is northeast of Chainscrape, as you can see on my map below.

Horizon Forbidden West Signal Towers Locations Guide

Your starting location is south of the tower, where you can climb some wooden structures. Scan the area and follow the yellow trail up the mountain wall to continue. Climb the ladder on the wall (pictured) when you get to the tower’s base.

You’ll see a Metal Flower in the following area, which requires a Special Tool obtained later in the game. For now, head through the hole on the left side while facing the Metal Flower.

If you look up, you’ll see some broken stairs. Climb on them, then follow the path around the tower to get to a ladder you can lower. Jump over the gap; then, you’ll see a yellow brick you can grab on the right side.

As you go up, jump on the balcony on the left side, then loot the chest nearby. Now go around the tower, and in the back, you’ll find more yellow bricks. Keep following them, and you’ll reach the top of the first tower. Behind the round wooden plate is the first Signal Lens.

Get the Lens of Morning, then rappel down or glide.

Crimson Narrows Eastern Signal Tower Lens Of Dawn

The next HZFW Signal Tower is east of Crimson Narrows, in the northeastern section of the map. You can see its location on my map, and again, the starting location is south of the tower, where you’ll most likely find some wooden platforms.

HZFW Signal Towers Location Guide

Scan the mountain wall and head up and to the right from the wooden platforms. Eventually, you’ll get to another platform in the uppers section, and from here, you’ll want to climb the mountain wall that’s on the left side. Once more, you’ll reach another platform, and here, you’ll want to be careful because you’ll want to jump and then tap X to get to the grappling point pictured below.

On the other side, keep going up, then turn left to see another grapple point you can reach by tapping X. Now, climb the tower’s wall, then head right around the building. Grab the yellow brick (pictured) on the exterior wall, then pull yourself up. Next, climb on the balcony on the right side.

Again, go around the tower, and you’ll see more bricks that can help you ascend. Just keep following them, and you’ll get to the top of the building.

Horizon Forbidden West Lens Of Dawn

Collect the Horizon Forbidden West Lens of Dawn from the back of the round dish, then descend the tower using the glider or the rappel point.

Chainscrape Eastern Signal Tower Lens Of Midday

One of the Horizon Forbidden West Signal Towers Lenses is East of Chainscrape. You can see the location of the said tower on my map, but this time, you’ll start your ascension from the north side.

Once you find the wooden platform, scan the mountain wall and start climbing, and when you reach the next section, you’ll see a grapple point (pictured below).

Sprint jump, then double-tap X to reach it, then keep going up. In the next section (after the second grapple point), head right to find another mountain area you can easily climb.

When you reach the top, scan the mountain again and keep climbing. Now, you should see a small plateau and a gap on the left side. Jump over the gap and keep pushing east to find an unusual stone pillar (pictured).

Hop on it, then pull yourself up and jump over the gap to get to the other side. Now, you’ll want to climb one last section of the mountain to reach the tower’s base. From here, you’ll want to follow the wooden platforms (below) until you reach the back of the tower.

Next, look for some yellow bricks you can follow, and they’ll lead you to a ledge. Grab it, then pull yourself up and jump over the next two ledges. Keep following the wooden platforms around the tower, then the yellow bricks that will help you reach the top.

Horizon 2 Forbidden West Lens Of Midday

Go around the wooden dish, claim the HZFW Lens Of Midday, and then rappel down or glide.

Sunken Cavern Daunt West Signal Tower Lens Of Afternoon

The fourth Horizon Forbidden West Signal Tower you should approach is the one east of Sunken Cavern: Daunt West. You can see it marked on my map; however, this one is best approached while playing The Twilight Path side-quest.

This quest starts at the tavern in Chainscrape, and eventually, you’ll be asked to find an NPC named Savohar. Without spoiling the quest, focus on reaching Savohar, and he will ask you to climb a tower.

It is the same tower where you’ll find the next Lens. So, from Savohar’s location, you’ll have to head south, and the first step is to jump and get to the grapple point (double-tap X) pictured below.

Next, head right around the mountain, then go up to get to the tower’s base. Jump over the broken stairs, then head right to spot the brick in my screenshot.

First, jump on the small platform under the brick, grab it, and head left to get to a small balcony. Once you go around the corner, you’ll see one last brick you can grab and use to reach the top of the tower.

Horizon Forbidden West Lens Of Afternoon

When you get to the top, the Lens of Afternoon should be on your left side in a pile of rubble (pictured above). After finding this specific item, complete The Twilight Path side-quest before heading to the next location.

The Daunt Hunting Grounds Eastern Signal Tower Lens Of Twilight

The fifth HZFW Signal Tower is East of The Daunt Hunting Grounds landmark.

You can approach it from the south, and it’s very accessible because you’ll need to follow a small canyon. Upon climbing the first wall, you’ll have to use a grapple point to proceed (double-tap X).

Next, you’ll want to use the grappling point that’s on the left side of the mountain wall, and when you reach the top, you’ll find a rather large clearing. Cross the clearing, and on the other side, you’ll see the tower. Go around it (west) and look for the breakable wall in my screenshot.

Use Aloy’s Pullcaster on the wall, then head inside and grab the wooden ledge on the left. Now, all you have to do is follow the wooden beams around the building until you see a rather large metal chain. Next to it is a small yellow brick you can grab.

From here, follow the next bricks on the left side and the wooden catwalks that will lead you to the top.

Horizon Forbidden West Lens Of Twilight

When you get to the roof, collect the Lens of Twilight, then descend using the rappel point. Now, it’s time to get the final Horizon Forbidden West Lens collectible and claim the rewards.

Northern Barren Light Signal Tower Lens Of Evening

The last Signal Tower you should approach is north of Barren Light, as you can see on my map.

This tower is also connected to the Signals of The Sun Errand Quest and the NPC interested in the Lenses you found. Therefore, start the said quest by checking the exclamation mark south of the tower. Now, as you climb the mountain, you’ll eventually find Raynah, and you’ll be asked to deal with the machines that roam nearby.

After you clear the area, you’ll be close to the base of the last Signal Tower. Before talking to Raynah, get the last Lens and start with the breakable wall at the tower’s base.

Use the Pullcaster on the marked wall, then get inside the building. In the next room, break the wall right in front of you, then head through the next hole.

You should see a small yellow brick you can use to start ascending on the left side. When you reach the upper floor, you’ll see some stairs. Head down, and on the right side is another breakable wall.

Again, use the Pullcaster, then get inside and scan the area. Above your head is a Grapple Point you can use (double tap X) to get to the upper now. Now, you’ll want to exit to the small balcony, then head right to see the brick in my image below.

Grab it, then head left to get to the top of the tower. Here, you’ll see one last round dish you have to loot to get the Lens of Evening.

How To Use the Signal Lenses

If you wonder how to use the Horizon Forbidden West Lenses you just found, then you should know that you can trade them for some valuable rewards. The NPC interested in these items is Raynah, and if you followed the same order as above, you should find the NPC close to the last tower (north of Barren Light).

Once you talk to her, she’ll give you Bronze Ingots and Greenshine Silver, both used to upgrade Aloy’s weapons. If you already talked to her before getting all the Lenses, you’ll find her in Barren Light. Her location is marked on the map by a specific icon, as you can see.

Horizon-Forbidden West Signal Lenses How To Use

Last but not least, for bringing all 6 Horizon Forbidden West Signal Lenses, you’ll unlock the Dune Shadow Die, so make sure you get them as fast as you can and find Raynah.
