As you make your way through the Palworld‘s landscapes, you might come across some challenging terrains and obstacles that might slow you down. Luckily, the Grappling Gun is here to save the day. This fantastic weapon will make navigating the landscape a breeze, so it’s definitely something you’ll want to unlock early on in the game.
In this guide, I’ll walk you through everything you need to know about the Grappling Gun in Palworld, from unlocking the blueprint to crafting and using it effectively.
How To Craft the Grappling Gun in Palworld
Step 1: Unlock the Grappling Gun
In Palworld, the Grappling Gun is considered a piece of Ancient Technology. To unlock the blueprint for this weapon, you must reach Level 12 and gather a couple of Ancient Technology points. These points can be earned by defeating Syndicate tower bosses (such as Rayne Syndicate’s Tower Boss), Alpha Pals, and dungeon bosses.
Once you hit Level 12 and rack up enough Ancient Technology points, head over to the Technology tab. On the right-hand side, in the Ancient Technology section, you’ll spot the recipe for the Grappling Gun. Unlocking this blueprint will let you craft it at the Weapon Workbench.
Step 2: Gather the Materials
Now that you have unlocked the blueprint for the Grappling Gun let’s gather the necessary materials and craft this powerful traversal tool. Here are the materials required:
- 10 Paldium Fragments – these blue ore can be found almost everywhere, including dungeons; they can also be produced at a Crusher in your base using Stone.
- 10 Ingots – this material can be crafted from Ores using a Primitive Furnace.
- 30 Fiber – drops while cutting trees with an axe. You can also use the Crusher to convert Wood into Fiber.
- 1 Ancient Civilization Part – obtained by defeating Alpha Pals and dungeon bosses around the Palworld.
Step 3: Craft the Grappling Gun
Even though you can unlock the Grappling Gun at Level 12, you won’t be able to craft it until you build a Weapon Workbench. Unfortunately, this structure becomes available once you reach Level 20. To build it, you will need 15 Ingots, 50 Wood, and 10 Nails.
Once you’ve unlocked the blueprint and gathered all the required materials, head over to your Weapon Workbench and start the production.
How To Use the Grappling Gun
After you have successfully crafted the Grappling Gun, it’s time to learn how to use it effectively. First, equip it into one of your four weapons slots within the Inventory menu. While holding it, right-click to aim at an object or surface and left-click to shoot the hook. If you’re close enough, the hook will instantly latch onto it, allowing you to move quickly in the direction you want.
For extra safety, it’s a good idea to equip a Glider along with the Grappling Gun. If you happen to fall after using it, you can use the Glider to reduce any fall damage.
The Grappling Gun in Palworld has a cooldown of 12 seconds after firing a hook. This allows the tool to recharge before it can be used again. As you progress in the game, you can upgrade your Grappling Gun to improve its distance and cooldown time. There are different types of Grappling Guns that you can unlock in the game:
- Grappling Gun – unlocks at Level 12.
- Mega Grappling Gun – unlocks at Level 17.
- Giga Grappling Gun – unlocks at Level 32.
- Hyper Grappling Gun – unlocks at Level 47.
Congratulations! You’ve learned how to unlock, craft, and use the Grappling Gun in Palworld. Don’t forget to upgrade it as you progress in the game.
