In Palworld, you need many resources to grow your base, and a great method to get lots of them is to build a Ranch. Once you’ve built the structure, Pals in your base will start working and provide you with all sorts of materials. However, just like with the Berry Plantation, building the Ranch can be tricky because you’ll need to have a bunch of resources and also get to level 5.

How to Build a Ranch in Palworld

Step 1: Unlock the Ranch Structure

Assuming you’re already level 5, you need to unlock the Ranch from the Technology tab of your Menu. Of course, to do so, you must have technology points, which you get when you level up.

Step 2: Gather the Materials

To build the Ranch, you need the following materials:

  • 50 Wood
  • 20 Stone
  • 30 Fiber

I know it sounds like a lot, but you can actually gather all these materials in under 5 minutes. For the Wood and Fiber, you need a Stone Axe and a couple of trees to cut down. For the Stone, you need a Stone Pickaxe and a rock deposit to mine.

Step 3: Build a Ranch

Provided you’ve gathered the materials, you now have to build a Ranch. Follow these simple instructions to continue:

  • Press Up on the Dpad of your controller.
  • Go to the Pal tab.
  • Select the Ranch.
  • Find a spot in your base to place the structure.
  • Approach the Ranch and hold X until is finally built.

How to Use a Palworld Ranch

Using the structure is pretty simple, but you’ll need Pals with Farming ability, such as Lamball, Chikipi, Mau, and others. Check our Pal capturing guide if you’re struggling to catch the little guys.

The Pals with the Farming ability located at your base should automatically work at the Ranch, but if you want a particular Pal to work there, approach it, press X to lift it, and drop it at the structure. It’s also good to know that the resources you get depend on what Pal you have assigned to the Ranch. For example:

  • Lamball produces Wool.
  • Chikipi produces Eggs.
  • Mau produces Gold Coins.

You can, of course, build more than one Ranch to increase the production of various crafting materials. If your Pals are starving, for example, build more Chikipi Ranches to automate the feeding process.
