While common, the Paldium Fragment is the first Palworld crafting material that can cause a bit of frustration, especially early in the game when you just start exploring the Palpagos Islands. The Paldium Fragments are required to craft Pal Spheres, which allow you to capture Pals or the funny little critters inhabiting the exotic Palworld.
Where To Find Paldium Fragments in Palworld
Since crafting Pal Spheres is part of the game’s tutorial, you may wonder how to get Paldium Fragments. The answer is simple: from Paldium Deposits, Stone Deposits, or by collecting them during your exploration. Later, you can also obtain them from the Stones you gather, but you’ll need to build a Crusher. Let’s see what exactly you are looking for.
Method 1: Collect Paldium Fragments by Exploring the World
The easiest method to collect the Palworld Paldium Fragments and craft your fir Pal Spheres is by exploring the world. While straightforward, this method is not the most productive, mainly because these fragments are rare, as you are about to discover.
When looking for them, you are, in fact, looking for small blue stones placed randomly across the terrain. There are no fixed locations to look for them, and as said, they are pretty rare. Therefore, when you see such a fragment, pick it up by pressing X on your Xbox controller while next to it.
Method 2: Mine Stone Deposits for Random Paldium Fragment Drops
Another method to get Paldium Fragments in Palworld involves a bit of mining. This means you’ll first have to build the Primitive Workbench using Wood. Then, at the Primitive Workbench, you’ll want to craft the Stone Pickaxe, which requires 5 Stone and 5 Wood.
Both materials are widespread, and you can get them via exploration early in the game. Once you have them in your inventory, return to the Primitive Workbench and craft the Stone Pickaxe. Now, equip it by pressing Y on your Xbox controller, then explore nearby areas looking for Stone Deposits.
To mine a Stone Deposit in Palworld, you only need to approach it and press RT while aiming at it. While the main resource you’ll get from Stone Deposits is Stone, as you can see, there is also a chance to obtain Paldium Fragments. This method is far more productive than the previous one because you’ll get two crafting materials simultaneously.
Method 3: Mine Paldium Deposits for Guaranteed Fragment Drops
The third method is also the best one when it comes to obtaining a lot of Palworld Paldium Fragments, and it also involves mining. Except that this time, you’ll mine Paldium Deposits, which, as you can see, are blue.
While smaller than the Stone Deposits, the Paldium Deposits have a 100% drop chance, meaning you’ll always get Paldium Fragments from them. The process of mining is similar to the one explained above. One aspect that is worth mentioning is that I have noticed that there is a high concentration of Paldium Deposits near water sources.
So, make sure that whenever you see a lake, pond, or river, you carefully explore the area looking for these Deposits. Later in the game, you can also get Paldium Fragments by defeating Lunaris Pals.
Last but not least, it is worth mentioning that Paldium Fragments are essential in Palworld because they are required to craft Pal Spheres needed to capture the little Pals. Since Pal Spheres are consumables, you’ll constantly have to craft them. Thus, you’ll have to constantly look for Paldium Deposits and mine these blue Fragments.
