As you grow your base in Palworld, you start to need Ingots and Charcoal. These materials can be obtained by crafting them in Primitive Furnaces. However, you must first unlock the Smelter, then build it, and only after that, you can use it.
How To Build a Primitive Furnace in Palworld
Step 1: Unlock the Primitive Furnace
The Furnace can be unlocked with Technology points after you reach level 10. You gain these points by leveling up. When you are ready, press the Menu button, go to the Technology tab, and unlock the Primitive Furnace blueprint, as shown in the image below.
Step 2: Gather the Materials
To build the Primitive Smelter, you need some materials:
- 20 Wood – easily obtained if you build a Logging Site at your base.
- 50 Stone – can be gathered from your Palworld Stone Pit.
- 3 Flame Organs – drop from Pals that have the Fire element, like Foxparks. Check our guide to learn how to get Flame Organs from various Pals.
Step 3: Build the Primitive Furnace
Once you’re done with the materials, open the build menu by pressing Up on the Dpad of your controller and selecting the Primitive Furnace under the Production tab.
To proceed, find a correct spot for the Smelter somewhere in your base, but make sure the structure turns blue, or you won’t be able to place it. Now, hold X to finish building your new Primitive Smelter.
How To Use a Primitive Furnace
To use the Palworld Furnace, approach it and press X. You now have two options (recipes):
- Charcoal – you need 2 Wood for 1 Charcoal.
- Ingot – you need 2 Ore for 1 Ingot.
After choosing between the two materials, select the quantity and start production. To continue, you need a Pal with the Kindling trait, like the Foxpark.
Assuming one of your Kindling Pals is working at your base, he will eventually come to help with the Primitive Furnace. If not, pick it up and throw it in the Furnace. Don’t forget to get the materials from the Smelter when the order is complete.
