Outriders A Free Market is the second Deadrock Pass quest (following Detour) to feature a bug/glitch that must be fixed by People Can Fly devs because it stops players from progressing through the Lumber Mill area the moment they are asked to Lift The Crate in order to reach the final section where they have to Eliminate Corrigan’s soldiers.

The first good thing about the Outriders Free Market Quest Bug is that, unlike the one from Detour, it is not game-breaking, meaning that if it occurs, this bug/glitch won’t stop you from finishing the story simply because we are talking about a side-quest.

The second good thing about the Lumber Mill door bug is that it’s quite easy to fix, assuming the method I am going to share below works for you guys the same way it worked for me. So, let’s see how to open the Lumber Mill door or if you want how to fix the Outriders Lift The Crate Bug.

What Is the Outriders Free Market Quest Bug (Lift the Crate Glitch)

The Lift The Crate Bug in Outriders is a glitch that doesn’t affect the actual crate but the Lumber Mills door that allows you to reach the second section of this Deadrock Pass area. Simply put, this game bug occurs when you play the Free Market side quest for Alastair Cullen or when you re-visit the Lumber Mill.

As you progress through the Lumber Mill, you’ll first reach a large courtyard where you have to eliminate Corrigan’s soldiers. Once you do that, however, the game prompts you to enter a very large building, but the problem is that the main door is closed.

You can see the Outriders Lumber Mill door bug taking place in the image below. Basically, once you deal with all the soldiers outside the building, this door should open. Except that for some players, it doesn’t, including yours truly.

Lift the Crate Bug Fix (Open the Lumber Mill Door)

As said, the bug fix for the Lumber Mill door is quite easy because you don’t have to deal with all the mobs you already killed. Obviously, if it doesn’t work, you can try restarting your console or fast travel to another area—the usual methods.

However, for me, the Lumber Mill door in the picture above opened after exiting this region two times. So basically, all you have to do is go back to the Lumber Mill starting point in the image below.

Now, exit to the Forestry Track Explorer Flag area, but do not return to the Deadrock Pass camp. When outside, simply re-enter the Lumber Mill, and you should be able to see the Lumber Mill doors wide open, just like in my screenshot.

Keep in mind, though, that if it doesn’t work the first time, you may want to try this method again. In my case, the door opened the second time.

And that’s it, friends! Now you have a Free Market door bug solution for the Outriders Lift the Crate step, so let me know if it worked for you.
