As you can notice on the map below, the safe in question is inside the eastern Houndfield Nightrunner Hideout. Your first objective is to get to the location I have marked.

This landmark is very accessible early in the game and is north of Cherry Windmill. Upon getting close to the landmark, you’ll see a ruined church, and there are several ways to get inside. The easiest is the front door, as you can guess. Once inside, head right through the crack in the wooden wall. It’s pretty easy to spot.

Now, you’ll find yourself in the backroom, and on the table nearby, you’ll see this safe.

What you should know about it is that you can’t use a lockpick on it. This means that you’ll need a safe code.

How To Unlock the Houndfield Hideout Safe

If you wonder what the safe Code for the lockbox in the Houndfield Nightrunner Hideout is, then the answer is 101; however, if you just open the safe without finding the Code, you’ll miss a collectible.

This means that you may want to find this DL2 Safe Code, and the next thing you’ll have to do is push the large cabinet on the other side of the room.

Upon pushing the cabinet, you’ll reveal the actual Hideout and a generator you’ll need to start. This generator is similar to the one on top of the Swimming Pool, and once you start it, the Hideout is secured. Now, turn around, and near the mattress, you’ll see a small crate.

Open it and get the Safe Code Artifact Collectible inside. Next, open your inventory, go to Collectable, then Mementos, and scroll over the Safe Code envelope to see the following message – “A note containing a safe code: 101”.

Obviously, the final step is to head back to the safe and use code 101. For this last puzzle, you need to use the left thumbstick to turn the wheel until you see the correct digit in the field at the bottom. After each digit, press Enter Code to move to the next field.
