Dying Light 2 Maya’s Music Box is a quest item you have to retrieve to complete the Sentimental Value side-quest in the video game developed by Techland. Similar to Lola’s Mink Stole, Maya’s Music Box is an item that belongs to an NPC you’ll meet early in the game.

Sentimental Value, however, features a secret outcome if you know how to use the Music Box. So, if you are interested in finding the Music Box for Maya, below, I’ll tell you where it is and what you can do with it.

From the beginning, it is worth pointing out that the Dying Light 2 Sentimental Value side-quest becomes available once you finish The Only Way Out main quest or the fourth story quest in the video game. Once you do that, you’ll have to visit the location marked on my map below, in the Horseshoe District.

On a rooftop, at the marked location, you’ll find a little girl asking for help. Her name is Maya, and you can see her in the following screenshot.

Upon approaching Maya, she’ll tell you the sad story of her life. Eventually, your conversation will be interrupted by three thugs, so to progress this quest, you’ll need to deal with them.

After you kill the bandits, talk to Maya again, and you’ll find out that her mother died. Maya’s only connection with her mother is a Music Box, but the bandits stole it from her. Since the Music Box means a lot to the little girl, she even agrees to give it to you if you manage to retrieve it.

Where To Find Maya’s Music Box

As you can guess, Maya’s Music Box is inside a Dark Hollow in the Quarry End District. On my map below, you can notice that it is east of Oak Windmill.

First, make sure you head to the mill if needed and wait until nighttime. Then, enter the Dark Hollow on my map, but use the entrance on the roof. Once inside the first room, follow the ladder down, and you’ll be able to spot a door blocked by some planks. Destroy them; then, you’ll see a rather large Goon in the following area.

Killing the large infected is mandatory for the quest because he swallowed Maya’s Music Box. Assuming you followed the guide, however, you’ll have the advantage of being above the Goon, and you’ll notice that he can’t climb to your location.

Therefore, you can start throwing Molotovos, for example. Confronting the Goon directly is also relatively easy because he’s pretty slow. Just make sure you hit him from behind. After dealing with him, make sure you loot his corpse to retrieve the Music Box.

By looting the Goon’s corpse, you’ll get Maya’s Music Box, and the Dying Light 2 Sentimental Value side-quest ends. As you’ll notice, the Music Box is marked as Valuable you can sell; however, if you decide to keep it (and you should) when you meet Maya next time (she usually roams inside the Bazaar), you won’t feel bad for selling it. You can even talk to her to get an extra ending for this quest.
