Dying Light 2 Saint Joseph Hospital Safe Code Location

Dying Light 2  Saint Joseph Hospital Safe Code is required to complete The First Biomarker Side-Mission in the latest video game developed by Techland. Unlike other Safe Codes, the Dying Light 2 Stay Human Saint Joseph Hospital Safe Code can be found only by triggering the associated quest since the puzzle you need to solve is provided by the quest giver.

This means that even if you find the DL2 Saint Joseph Hospital Safe while free-roaming unless you start The First Biomarker quest, you won’t be able to open it. Furthermore, the riddle you have to solve to get the actual Safe Code is a bit trickier than the one we have solved for the Bazaar Tower Safe, for example.

So, if you want to know how to open The First Biomarker Safe and what the Code is, below, I’ll tell you everything you need to know about it.

How To Start the First Biomarker Side Quest

As said, to get the Dying Light 2  Saint Joseph Hospital Safe Code clue, your first objective is to start the associated side quest. The First Biomarker quest is accessed early in the game after completing the Markers of Plague main quest. Or the third story mission if you want. Once you do that, open your map and locate the quest-giver, which happens to be McGregor. He’s found in Trinity District, as you can notice on my map below.

On the map, you can also notice that McGregor is west of Alder Windmill. Now, approach this location and find McGregor on the roof of the Trading Post.

Talk to him and pay close attention to what he has to say. So that you know, the dialogue choices here do not affect the story or the rewards you’ll receive. This is a simple fetch-quest. However, what is essential is the riddle McGregor provides at the end of the dialogue.

And this riddle has three parts, one for each digit you’ll have to use to open the Saint Joseph Hospital Safe, where you’ll find the Biomarker. Furthermore, you’ll receive an artifact collectible (Safe Code – A note from Dr. Katsumi containing a riddle) at the end of the dialogue. You can access it via the game’s menu. Simply check the Collectables tab to see the note. As said, it has three parts:

• What becomes smaller when you turn it upside down
• An odd number – take away a letter, and it becomes even
• A little girl goes to the store and buys one dozen eggs. As she is going home, all but three eggs break. How many eggs are left unbroken?

Great, so before solving The First Biomarker puzzle, let’s find the safe.

Where To Find the Saint Joseph Hospital Safe

As you can guess, this Safe is found inside Saint Joseph Hospital on the northern side of Houndfield District. You can see the exact location on my map below.

Furthermore, you can see how to get inside Saint Joseph Hospital in Dying Light 2 on the map above. Basically, all you need to do is to head to the location on my map, and while on the ground, look for a bus like the one in the following screenshot.

Now, enter the bus, turn right, and you’ll get inside the hospital. Depending on when you approach this location (day/night) in the first room, you’ll have to fight/avoid some Infected. What happens here also depends on your playstyle, but you have to follow the path to the left. In the next room, on the left side, you’ll see some ledges (pictured below).

Grab them, pull yourself up, and walk on the ramp, and you’ll reach a balcony. Turn right and walk on the next ledge to get outside. Once outside, turn right, and on the other side of the balcony, turn right again to enter the hospital.

Cross the room on the left side, then head outside again, crossing the next balcony. Now, climb to the upper floor and go around the corner to see a broken window that grants you access to the upper floor (pictured).

Once you climb to the upper floor, you’ll be inside Dr. Katsumi’s office, and on the other side, you’ll see the Dying Light 2 Saint Joseph Hospital Safe.

How To Unlock the Saint Joseph Hospital Safe

Since it involves some word riddles, Dr. Katsumi’s puzzle is relatively easy to figure out. Each of them provides a digit. Here is how to solve it:

• First digit: What becomes smaller when you turn it upside down – The answer is nine because when you turn it upside down, it becomes 6
• Second digit: An odd number – take away a letter, and it becomes even – The answer is seven because if you take away the letter S, it becomes the word even
• Third digit: A little girl goes to the store and buys one dozen eggs. As she is going home, all but three eggs break. How many eggs are left unbroken? – The answer is three because all but three eggs break

So, to open the Dying Light 2 Stay Human Saint Joseph Hospital Safe and get the first Biomarker, you’ll have to use the code 973. Now, approach the Safe and use the left thumbstick to turn the wheel until you see the correct digit in the field at the bottom. After each digit, press Enter Code to move to the next field. Upon opening Dr. Katsumi’s Safe, get the Biomarker inside and return it to McGregor to finish The First Biomarker side-quest.
