Chang Hoon Nam is a Cyberpunk 2077 Netrunner, an NPC, and a mission objective you’ll have to locate for a CP77 Gig you can complete in Westbrook, Japantown area of the video game developed by CD Projekt Red.
The said gig is named Wakako’s Favorite, and your goal is to find Chang Hoon Nam, who went missing.
To start Cyberpunk 2077 Wakako’s Favorite, first, you’ll have to finish the Playing for Time Main Job, then you may also want to find Dante’s Den for the Another Circle Of Hell Reported Crime.
Wakako’s Favorite is a Cyberpunk 2077 SOS: Merc Needed Gig, and below I’ll tell you where to find Chang Hoon Nam and how to deal with him.
Journal Entry
For years, I worked to get jobs done comfortably, with a crew I hand-picked myself. I chose Chang Hoon Nam years ago, and he hasn’t let me down once. I don’t know what happened to him, but you got to get him back. Check the basement in that Chinese place.
He keeps his gear there, sometimes takes a side gig or two. Think he’s still alive – if he weren’t, he’s the type who’s come back as a ghost and apologize, just like in those tales from the old country that make me want to puke. He’s sentimental like that.
Gig Objectives
- Find a way to Chang Hoon Nam’s hideout
- Find Chang Hoon Nam
- Discover what happened to Chang Hoon Nam
- Follow the lights
- Take the shard
- Slot the shard in Chang Hoon Nam’s neutral port
- Talk to Chang Hoon Nam
- Leave the area
Gig Location
Look for this gig in central Japantown.
On my map below, you can see that the icon is located southwest of Redwood Market.
How To Find A Way To Chang Hoon Nam’s Hideout
Once you get to the location marked on my map, you’ll find a rather large restaurant.
Nam’s Hideout can be accessed via a door in the back alley. You can see it below, and the good thing is that you don’t need a key.
Once you open the door, head right and go to the basement. Keep in mind that there are no enemies here, but the place is full of traps.
Inside the hideout, you’ll find a lot of loot and also Nam in a chair.
Get everything and read all shards.
How To Find Out What Happened To Chang Hoon Nam
After you explore the area, check the computer next to Nam.
There are three emails, but the one that interests you is the one from Spectral Kid. The subject is Kang Tao Container.
How To Follow The Lights
The moment you read the email above, you’ll be asked to follow some lights.
This objective can be quite confusing, so in order to progress, head to a small side room that is separated from the main room by a grated wall.
Pay close attention to the floor, and you’ll spot an Exit sign.
Interact with it and open a hatch. Jump inside the tunnel under the floor and follow it but move slowly because there are more traps.
When you exit on the other side, you’ll find a new room.
Where To Find The Shard For Stabilizing Chang Hoon Nam’s Condition
In the new room, there is a lot of loot, but the quest item you’re looking for is the shard sitting on the shelf pictured below.
Get the shard, then get all loot.
Now return to Chang Hoon Nam and interact with him.
When he wakes up, he’ll tell you what happened.
Exhaust all dialogue options, then simply exit his hideout to complete the gig.
That’s everything you need to know about Chang Hoon Nam and the Cyberpunk 2077 Wakako’s Favorite Gig, so now let’s focus on a very interesting Gig named Olive Branch.
Location of “Spectral Kid”: from the “Chapel” fast travel point in Pacifica –> go just a big south –> go down the stairs looking south –> turn twice to the right to go behind the stairs –> reach a “below the street” area that is marked as hostile –> open the garage door on the right (req stat 3 body) –> inside is the fried body of “Spectral Kid”, archived conversation with Chang Hoon Nam and loot –> a hostile turret will activate outside once you enter the garage.
The conversation shard is marked as a quest item, didn’t manage to confirm whether it’s related to “Wakako’s Favorite” or not.
