Waiting For Dodger is one of the Gigs as part of the Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty DLC, where you must extract NCPD officers from Dodger’s base, a former NCPD station. Completing the Waiting For Dodger contract is not particularly difficult, but you will face a choice at the end of the mission that you may want more information.
It is important to mention that to unlock all the possible endings in the final section of the Waiting for Dodger gig, you must refrain from killing any enemies once you enter the base. This involves using stealth and non-lethal takedowns throughout the entire Gig. I recommend creating manual saves as you progress to reload if you get detected.
To start the Gig, you must progress the Lucretia My Reflection main job until you’re tasked to call Solomon Reed on the Capitan Caliente old telephone. On your way to the restaurant, Mr. Hands, the local fixer, will call you to offer some new jobs.
One of these contracts is the Waiting For Dodger Gig. Head to the green Gig icon on the map located at the former NCPD station near the fast travel point of the Grand Imperial Mall. I’ve pinpointed the exact location on the map below.
When you get close enough to the gig icon, Mr. Hands will contact you to give you the contract details. Your main objective is to extract two NCPD officers from Dodger’s base (former NCPD station).
How To Complete the Waiting for Dodger Gig
To begin the Waiting For Dodger Gig, go to the marked location on your map and meet with Stella, the wife of one of the two NCPD officers. She is currently located in a nearby car across the Dodger’s base or former NCPD station. When you’re near the vehicle, enter from the passenger side.
Once you’re inside the vehicle, Stella will have a brief conversation with you and give you an access card for the former NCPD station nearby. After you leave the vehicle, head over to the station’s entrance across the street.
As soon as you enter, eliminate or incapacitate the four enemies and proceed towards the central office area, where an elevator can be found on the left-hand side. Descend to the basement via the elevator to continue your search for Bill and Charles.
Exit the elevator and sneak behind the enemy, trying to tamper with the door controls to perform a silent kill, then talk to the person behind the door. This person goes by the name of Charles and asks for your help opening the jammed door.
After you open the jammed door with one of the two available options, Charles will guide you to the next room, where Bill will be waiting beside a dead body on the table. Have a conversation with the officers to gather information about the situation and come up with a plan to evacuate them from the building safely.
The NCPD officers will ask for your help to escort them to their squad car in the garage. Follow them out of the room and down the nearby staircase until you reach a closed door. Once they manage to open it after some funny conversation, you must defeat the enemy at the end of the corridor near the vending machine. You can put him down silently or shoot him up.
How To Find A Way To Open The Door in Waiting For Dodger Gig
Once the enemy is defeated, the two officers will proceed to the next room and try to unlock the door. You can forcefully open the door if you have at least 19 Body Attribute Points. Otherwise, you’ll have to enter the server room illuminated in red that you passed earlier and override the fusebox to gain access to the next room.
After opening the door, you will encounter several enemies in the next room. You have two options to dispatch them: sneak up behind them one by one and eliminate them quietly, or go in guns blazing and quickly take out the guards. The choice is yours. Once you’ve defeated all the enemies, escort the officers to the garage where their squad car is parked.
How To Confront Dodger
At this point, Dodger will return to the base and inquire about the situation. You will have three options to choose from:
- Lie Dodger to protect Bill and Charles;
- Reveal the truth about the police officers.
- Engage in a confrontation with Dodger and his associates by drawing your weapon.
Unfortunately, all three choices lead to the same outcome: a bloody gunfight between Dodger and his chooms. However, suppose you didn’t kill any of Dodger’s men and only performed Non-Lethal Takedowns or System Collapses during the Waiting For Dodger Gig.
If you inform Dodger that the police officers are not truthful by selecting the “He’s lying.” dialogue option, the officers will reveal how things went down, and Dodger will find it quite amusing.
He will even release Bill and Charles as long as all the enemies in the base are still alive. But, if you don’t want to miss out on a nice Power Revolver (Iconic) called Rosco, I suggest that you loot Dodger after you defeat him and his men.
