Baldur’s Gate 3 Blind the Absolute is another subquest of the Free True Soul Nere quest, in which you’ll have to take out the Scrying Eye – discreetly. The Scrying Eye is a magic device that allows the Absolute cult to watch an area far away from their present location.
After learning that Elder Brithvar isn’t a fan of the Absolute cult and the True Souls, he will ask you to knife the floating orb-eye without getting caught to double-cross Nere. Destroy the Scrying Eye can be quite challenging since the whole Grymforge is filled with Duergar keeping an eye on you.
As such, our Baldur’s Gate 3 guide will provide a quick and easy way to destroy the Scrying Eye and complete the Blind the Absolute quest.
How to Start the BG3 Blind the Absolute Quest
In order to trigger the BG3 Blind the Absolute quest, you must start the Free True Soul Nere quest by speaking with Sergeant Thrinn in the central main area of the Underdark – Grymforge.
You can quickly get to Sergeant Thrinn if you find the missing boots and return them to her. She will sense that you are a True Soul and ask for help freeing Nere. Then, look for Elder Brithvar on a balcony with Stone Guard Kur north of the collapsed tunnel. Here are the coordinates (X:-627, Y:353).
When you speak with Elder Brithvar, agree to help him and his rebels to double-cross Nere. This way, you’ll trigger the Blind the Absolute quest in Baldur’s Gate 3.
How to Destroy the Scrying Eye in Baldur’s Gate III
As you explore the Grymforge, you’ll quickly observe the floating orb-eye persistently tracking your movements. Lure the Scrying Eye near a chasm, out of Duergar’s sight. We’ve found the perfect place at the following coordinates (X: -651, Y: 323).
Select the companion with the highest Strength and use the Shove action to push the Scrying Eye in the chasm, as shown in the image below.
The Scrying Eye will perish without anyone noticing its absence, finishing the Blind the Absolute quest in Baldur’s Gate 3. Unfortunately, destroying the floating orb-eye only yields a low amount of 10 XP and no other rewards. But feel free to check our Wiki Hub Page if you wish to complete more quests with better rewards.
