Where To Find the BG3 Overgrown Tunnel Noxious Fumes

In the Gnarled Teahouse, go through the illusion wall inside the fireplace to enter the Overgrown Tunnel.

You’ll come across the Gnarled Door that appears inaccessible at first, but it’s actually just an illusion. You can quickly get through it by following our in-depth guide here. Upon going through Gnarled Door, you will be immediately surrounded by four Hag’s Pawns – the Masks of Terror, Vengence, Regret, and Servitude.

After defeating them, navigating the Noxious Fumes is the real challenge. Here’s how to go through the Noxious Fumes.

How To Clear the Noxious Fumes in Baldur’s Gate III

The Noxious Fumes are powered by vents hidden within them. Typically, you can burn the Noxious Fumes using any fire spell, but not this time. To get rid of the Noxious Fumes, block the vent by throwing any item using your character or any companion.

Block the vents to stop the Noxious Fumes.

The key is to block the vents with any object to prevent the gas from escaping. You can use any spell to burn through the Noxious Fumes temporarily. Once the fumes are cleared, you will have a few seconds to locate the vents.

For this situation, it would be best to use a character that can easily spot and disable traps, such as a rogue. Also, make sure to move your companions one by one to avoid running into Peculiar Flowers trip mines. To do so, press G to split them. Now, block the second vent at the bottom of the ladder after blocking the first vent, as shown in the image above.

Throw an object at the vents to block the Noxious Fumes.

Then, throw another object on the Peculiar Flowers trip mines to blow them up.Even though the ladder it’s gone, you can jump with your character and companions from the platform on the opposite side of the ladder without taking damage.

Also, don’t forget to pick up the item you’ve blown the Peculiar Flowers trip mines. Follow the path down and blow up the Peculiar Flowers trip mines just before the next area of Noxious Fumes. You can jump on the southern side of the Overgrown Tunnel, as shown in the image below. Or, if you spot the vent, you can also block it with an object in your inventory.

Jump on the right side of the platform to avoid the Noxious Fumes in the Overgrown Tunnel.

You’ll have to jump again on the platform below. Then, jump one more time to reach the Ancient Abode area. Repeat the same process with every companion to start the boss fight against Auntie Ethel in Baldur’s Gate 3.

Prepare to fight against Auntie Ethel in the Ancient Abode area.

Save the game before you begin the fight against Auntie Ethel, so you don’t have to get your whole team again through the Noxious Fumes. That’s everything you need to know about the Noxious Fumes in the Overgrown Tunnel. Make sure to check out our Baldur’s Gate 3 Wiki Hub Page for more helpful guides like this one.
