Rosymorn Monastery is an important location in Act 1 of Baldur’s Gate 3. Apart from containing valuable items, it is also one of the places you must visit while working on Lae’zel’s questline to remove the parasite. But you may have also stumbled upon the Rosymorn Monastery Doors while simply exploring the world.
Either way, the monastery has many blocked pathways, including the main doorway, which requires a lever to open from the other side. So, follow this guide to learn how to quickly open the main doors of Rosymorn Monastery in Baldur’s Gate 3.
Where To Find the BG3 Rosymorn Monastery Doors
The Rosymorn Monastery is located in the Mountain Pass area of the world map. To reach it, enter the Mountain Pass west of Waukeen’s Rest waypoint and follow the path until you reach the Trielta Crags waypoint.
Then, take the path heading northeast. At the beginning of the path, Lady Esther asks for your help stealing a Githyanki egg. On your way to Rosymorn Monastery in BG3, you’ll come across a cable car. Passing a Strength check is required to use it.
However, if you fail the Strength check, there is a ragged rock nearby that can be used to descend from the cliff safely. Climb down and jump over the gap to reach the path that leads straight to the Rosymorn Monastery Doors.
Unlocking Rosymorn Monastery Doors in Baldur’s Gate III
After triggering the cutscene near the locked doors of Rosymorn Monastery, you can use Knotted Roots (vines) to access the upper floor. The Knotted Roots are on the left of the Rosymorn Monastery doors, near a pile of crates. Check the image below to see the exact location.
Some high-level enemies may be present in some rooms, so it may be wise to avoid them. However, entering the rooms and defeating them can be an excellent way to increase XP and acquire loot. Follow the path forward (north) until you reach a Barricade, then take a right.
Next, head north again to enter the room with the Stained-Glass Window on the floor. This room contains a puzzle to solve, requiring you to find all ceremonial weapons and place them on the pedestals. Go through the broken window on the eastern side of the room.
Here comes the tricky part. You’ll have to make it to the bottom floor, and you have a couple of options at your disposal. The most obvious option is to jump down and take a little bit of damage in the process. Then, you can use some healing potions or take a short rest to restore a character’s health.
But if you want to avoid taking damage, you can use spells such as Misty Step, which allows you to teleport anywhere up to 18m, or cast the Grant Flight spell to grant you or an ally the ability to Fly up to 18m.
After reaching the bottom floor with one of your characters, head south to the Rosymorn Monastery Doors and pull the lever on the left side.
Upon pulling the lever, the doors of Rosymorn Monastery will open. On the left side, a set of stairs can be found to explore the area further. You can also bring the rest of your party through the freshly opened doors to avoid injuring them from the jump. I hope this guide helped you open the Rosymorn Monastery Doors in Baldur’s Gate 3.
