Forza Horizon 5 Hold Your Horses Treasure Hunt is the second event featuring the FH5 Treasure Chests, which can be found almost every week as part of the game’s seasons. The FH5 Hold Your Horses Treasure Hunt is worth, just like the previous one (New Heights), 3 PTS that count towards the Season’s progress.

Additionally, it leads to a Treasure Chest with 50.000 CR inside. So, if you wish to complete the Hold Your Horses Treasure Hunt in Forza Horizon 5, below, I’ll tell you everything you need to know about it.

FH5 Hold Your Horses Treasure Hunt Spring Season Event Guide

Forza Horizon 5 Hold Your Horses Treasure Hunt

Again, to find the Hold Your Horses Treasure Hunt, you have to check your Festival Playlist. To do this, simply follow these steps:

  • Go to the game’s menu
  • Choose the Campaign Tab
  • Select Festival Playlist
  • Pick the Summer Tab
  • On your Xbox controller, use the left thumbstick to scroll right and see the FH5 Hold Your Horses Treasure Hunt in my screenshot above

Treasure Hunt Requirements

Similar to the previous Treasure Hunt, Hold Your Horses comes with two requirements:

  • The first one refers to the car you have to use, which happens to be a Mustang
  • The second requirement refers to PR Points

So, for this Treasure Hunt, you need to own a Ford Mustang and use it to get 10 PR Points. This is, in fact, easier than you think. So, let’s go over these requirements one by one.

How To Get a Ford Mustang

FH5 Hold Your Horses Treasure Hunt

Luckily, Forza Horizon 5 features many Ford Mustangs, and most likely, if you have finished the story, you already have at least one. For this Treasure Hunt, you can use any Mustang you want. If you check your Car Collection via the game’s menu, you’ll notice a lot of cars made by Ford.

A few are Ford Mustangs, such as the 1965 Mustang GT Coupe, the 1969 Mustang Boss 302, the 2018 #88 Mustang RTR, or the 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500. You can use all these models for the Treasure Hunt, but you have to decide how you wish to get those PR Points before picking one.

For the sake of this guide, we’ll go with the 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500 in the screenshot above. If you don’t have a Ford Mustang or want to get the one above, head to the Auction House or buy the one you want directly from the Car Collection window by pressing Y on Xbox.

How To Earn 10 Stars From PR Stunts in a Mustang

The fastest way to earn 10 Stars from PR Stunts in Forza Horizon 5 is by completing Danger Signs, simply because these are the shortest events. If you are new to the game, these are marked by the traffic signs with an exclamation point on your map.

Keep in mind, though, that the PR Stunts must be unlocked by completing the Canyon Expedition. Once you do that, you’ll see these signs (pictured below), and things get pretty straightforward from here.

What you need to do is to jump on the ramps at each location, trying to get 3 Stars, as you can see in my image below.

The number of stars (PR Points) you get at each Danger Sign determines the number of Stunts you must complete. Since you can’t get more than 3 Stars per PR Stunt, it means that you need 4 Danger Signs with 3 Stars, five with 2 Stars, or any combination that leads to 10 Stars.

However, the car we have picked (2020 Mustang Shelby GT500) is powerful enough to bring you at least 2 Stars at most Danger Signs and even three. So, make sure you get those Stars to unlock the Hold Your Horses Treasure Hunt clue.

Before moving to the actual location of the chest, there are two last essential things worth mentioning:

  • First, the PR Points must come from different PR Stunts. Or, simply put, you have to play different Events no matter what Stunts you pick
  • Second, if you already got 3 Stars on all PR Stunts in the game, you have to replay them until you get the clue

Where To Find the Treasure Chest

After you get the 10 PR Stunts or Gold Stars, it is time to claim your Forza Horizon 5 Hold Your Horses Treasure Chest. As you can see on the map below, it is found north of the highway.

To get it, simply jump drive to the location on the map above, and you’ll find a drained river. Drive north, and on the right side, you’ll spot the chest in my screenshot.

As you probably know, all you have to do to claim the Forza Horizon 5 Hold Your Horses Chest is to smash it with your car.
