Forza Horizon 5 Series 10 Winter Season is upon us, and on the festival playlist that just unlocked, youβll most likely notice the Practical Metal Treasure Hunt.
As you probably know by now, the FH5 Practical Metal Hunt leads to a new treasure chest containing 100 Forzathon Points (PTS) and 5.000 XP points; however, unlocking the chest is a bit trickier, as you are about to see. Furthermore, just like the previous Treasure Hunt (Sustainable Energy), Practical Metal requires an electric car.
Fear not, though, because, throughout the following Forza 5 Practical Metal guide, Iβll tell you everything you need to know about this Treasure Hunt and how to claim your 100 Forzathon Shop Points.
FH5 Practical Metal Treasure Hunt Winter Season Guide
From the start, if you are a new player and this is your first Treasure Hunt, youβll want to find the clue provided by the Playground Games developers.

You can see it in the screenshot above, and to find it on your list, youβll need to:
- Go to the gameβs menu
- Choose the Campaign Tab
- Select Festival Playlist
- Pick the Winter Tab
- On your Xbox controller, use the left thumbstick to scroll right and see the FH5 Practical Metal Treasure Hunt challenge in my screenshot above
Great, so now, youβll want to check the Treasure Clue, which reads: Copper wins in electric conductivity and is used across country.β
The clue, as you can see, is quite vague about what you have to do, unlike the weekly challenges that are straightforward. Simply put, to unlock the Treasure Chest or to make it spawn in your game, youβll need to win a specific event in an Β Extreme EΒ car or electric vehicle. Except that there is a catch this time.
Practical Metal Treasure Clue Solution
The said event or the race that youβll have to win is the Copper Canyon Cross Country you can see marked on the map below.

You can notice that it takes place on the northern side of Tierra Prospera, east of Hotel Castillo Santa Cecilia and west of Copper Canyon Landmark. So, the next step is to find the Copper Canyon Cross Country Event.
Now, youβll see that this is a Seasonal Championship that features three races; however, you donβt need to complete all of them, nor do you need to win the Championship. You only have to win the Copper Canyon Cross Country race or the standard event. This means that when you start the race, youβll need to press Y (pictured below) to turn the Championship into a Normal Event.

Next, youβll need to be aware that for this Treasure Hunt, youβll have to drive a Forza EV car or electric vehicle. The class is not important, but the model is. If you completed last weekβs Treasure Hunt, most likely, you have the 2022 #99 Chip Ganassi Racing GMC Hummer EV, so make sure you use that one.
If not, you can use the Ford Mustang Mach E or any other car in the class named Extreme E. As said, the carβs power is not important, so you can even opt for an S1 Class car as long as itβs electric. And it goes without saying that you must win the race, so make sure you finish it in the first place. Once you do, the chestβs location appears on your map.
Where To Find the Treasure Chest
The Practical Metal Treasure Chest is found northeast of Copper Canyon Cross Country starting point in Tierra Prospera.

After winning the race, youβll want to return to the starting line of the same race and then drive east. Stay on the upper side of the mountain, and youβll see it between some bushes, close to a tree. In the screenshot below, you can notice that the treasure chest is on the edge of the mountain.

After you smash it, youβll get the 100 FP (Forza Points) you can use at the Forzathon Shop to buy one of the following rewards: Extreme E Red Race Suit Outfit, the Banjo-Kazooie Spiral Mountain Part 2 Car Horn, the Napier-Railton, 1 Wheelspin, Super Wheelspin, or the Ferrari 599XX Evolution 2012 assuming you have 600 FP.
