Forza Horizon 5 Pyramid Of The Sun Speed Trap is (unlike Vado Del Rio) the most annoying FH5 Speed Trap PR Stunt if you wish to get all 3 Stars and complete all associated Accolades. That’s because the FH5 Pyramid Of The Sun Speed Trap requires a car that can easily reach 165 MPH on gravel and a bit of luck due to the hills in front and behind it.
Nevertheless, if you are a completionist, below I’ll tell you how to get 3 Stars in the FH5 Pyramid Of The Sun Speed Trap.
FH5 Pyramid of the Sun Speed Trap Location
As usual, let’s start with the location of the FH5 Speed Trap, known as Pyramid Of The Sun. On the map below, you can see that it’s close to the Teotihuacan landmark. It’s west of a vast temple.
Now, head to this location, and you’ll see it on the road made of gravel. Furthermore, you’ll see that there are several small hills next to this trap. They are on the road, and they play an essential role when trying to get 3 Stars.
Before we move on with the recommended car, keep in mind that the goal of this guide is to help you get 3 Stars, not a new world record. Most players get them accidentally while driving at high speed in this area; however, we’ll use physics and a bit of mechanics in this guide.
Recommended Car
The car I recommend using for the Pyramid Of The Sun Speedtrap is the 2011 BMW X5 M Forza Edition. It is included in the Welcome Pack, but you can also win it at Wheelspin if you are lucky. If not, you can simply buy it by following these steps:
- Head to a Horizon Festival spot
- Select the Buy & Sell tab
- Select Auction House
- Use the Search Auctions filters
- Now select a listing and buy the car
After you get this car (pictured above), head back to the Speed Trap location.
Recommended Setup
Now that you have the car, it is time to change the stock setup. That’s because you’ll want to increase most of the car’s stats. We won’t go into details, but we’ll use one of the other players’ setups. Specifically, a setup that increases this car’s top speed to 270 MPH and provides better grip.
Here are the steps you need to follow:
- Go to the game’s Menu
- Select the Cars tab
- Now pick Tune Car
- Press the Setup Manager button in the lower-left corner of the screen
- Hit Load Setup
- Pick an X 999 Setup that comes with a top speed of at least 270 MPH
For the sake of the guide and to help you use the same setup I have used (pictured above), look for the one created by user boog840. The share code is 779 635 602.
How To Get 3 Stars in Pyramid of the Sun FH5 Speed Trap
Good, now that you have the car and know the setup for this Speed Trap, let’s see how you can get 165 MPH. To do this, you’ll need to head to the starting location marked on the map above by the second yellow arrow. This location is north of the Speed Trap in a clearing surrounded by trees.
From there, you’ll need to drive south in a straight line until you get to the gravel road. Next, you’ll need to maintain a straight trajectory, but there is one trick you have to be aware of. If you stay on the gravel road, you’ll eventually hit the small hill in front of the Speed Trap. By jumping on that hill, you’ll reduce your speed by several miles, also missing the required speed.
What you need to do here is to stay on the left side of the gravel road as you get close to the Speed Trap. The following image should help you understand better the path you need to follow.
The idea here is to hit the left side of the hill because you’ll jump higher, and by doing so, you’ll land on the small hill where the trap sits, thus avoiding the gap between the two hills, where you’ll lose speed. This part is essential when it comes to this Speed Trap and obviously may require multiple tries.
Once you find the correct trajectory, don’t forget to use the rewind button if needed. Simply put, if you know this trick, and what car to use, the 3 Stars are yours.
Just as a note you can’t buy the X5 M Forza Edition through the auction unless you already got the Welcome Pack. When you try to place a bid or buyout the car it takes you to a page to buy the Welcome back for $18. Still looking for a car capable of finishing this speed trap.
I used the RS200 Hoonigan with a tune on it, took plenty of attempts but got there in the end
Nice! Congrats. Do you remember the tune’s share code?
It is easier to come at it from the other direction. I used the Hoonigan RS200 with a tune that gave it good top speed while still maintaining some off-road (it was about 8.1).
