Similar to the Rune Switch, Ossu-Gol Necropolis Ancient Obelisk is one of the 26 Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands Campaign Challenges in the City of the Dead, and you may want to complete it if you’re looking to get to 100% progress in the area. The Ossu-Gol Necropolis Obelisk requires you to progress the main quest in this region up to the point when you get to Sandchocked Catacombs.
To finish the associated challenge, you’ll need to defeat Mandiblon, Chomper of Skulls, a mini-boss similar to The Great Wight you have faced at the Wargtooth Shallows Ancient Obelisk.
Where To Find the Ossu-Gol Necropolis Obelisk
The following map shows the location of the Ossu-Gol Necropolis Ancient Obelisk, which, as you can see, is in a side room within the Sandchocked Catacombs.
You can get to this side room by following the linear path within the catacomb until you get to a large hall with multiple suspended platforms. Without touching the purple liquid on the ground, and after you collect the Lucky Dice within the large room, jump down, then look around for an entrance to the room where the Obelisks can be spotted.
How To Complete the Ancient Obelisk Ossu-Gol Necropolis Challenge
If you wish to complete the Ossu-Gol Necropolis Ancient Obelisk Challenge faster, consider using a weapon that inflicts fire damage. That’s because all mobs you’ll need to kill to recharge the Obelisk are sharks; thus, they are very weak to fire.
The only exceptions here are the Embereaters, which are resilient to fire but weak to ice damage. To avoid being surrounded by the sharks that attack in waves, you can also opt to make your stand behind the door leading to the Obelisk.
If you do this, the mobs won’t be able to attack you from behind. Mandiblon, the boss that spawns when the Obelisk is charged, is also very weak to fire attacks. His weak point is the head.
Even on the highest difficulty levels and on Chaos, Mandiblon is very accessible as long as you deal fire damage. This boss drops the Sworderang Legendary Shotgun and the Sacrificial Skeep Legendary Amulet, but the drop rate depends on your Loot Luck.
If you want these two items by any chance, you can farm the boss by resetting the Ancient Obelisk. To do this, you’ll want to fast-travel to another area (Brighthoof, for example), then return to Ossu-Gol Necropolis.
