Assassin’s Creed Mirage A Challenge Enigma Solution

Announced at Ubisoft Forward on September 10, 2022, Assassin’s Creed Mirage is the thirteenth installment in the Assassin’s Creed series. The action-adventure stealth game was released on October 5, 2023, for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Amazon Luna.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage takes place in 9th-century Baghdad and follows the story of Basim Ibn Ishaq, known from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Unlike its predecessor, Assassin’s Creed Mirage features reduced RPG elements, focusing on parkour, close-quarter combat, and stealth gameplay.

Set decades before Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, AC Mirage allows players to help Basim evolve from a street thief to a Hidden One. While smaller in size, Assassin’s Creed Mirage is a return to the AC series roots, allowing Basim to complete assassination missions throughout Baghdad, accompanied by his Eastern imperial eagle Enkidu. According to developers, the Assassin’s Creed Mirage main story takes 15-20 hours to complete, and it celebrates the 15th anniversary of the Assassin’s Creed franchise.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage A Challenge Enigma is by far the trickiest and most complicated Enigma available in the video game developed by Ubisoft Bordeaux because the solution to the puzzle you must solve requires some astronomical knowledge.

A Challenge Enigma is nevertheless mandatory if you wish to get 100% completion in the Abbasiyah District; therefore, as part of our complete Assassin’s Creed Mirage Strategy Guide, I’ll tell you everything you need to know about this puzzle. Assuming you already solved the Delight by the Dome Enigma and The Gift Enigma, now it’s time to deal with the third hidden treasure in the western district of Baghdad.

AC Mirage A Challenge Enigma Location

As with all Enigma puzzles in AC Mirage, to start the one named A Challenge, first, you must locate the hidden scroll, which triggers the side activity. In this case, the Enigma collectible scroll is found southwest of the Scriptorium at the location marked below.

If you already synchronized all Abbasiyah Viewpoints in the game, you won’t encounter any difficulties identifying the location I marked for you. However, when you get close to it, you’ll want to approach it from the northeast and constantly scan the area around you. Eventually, you’ll notice the glowing scroll you must find on a balcony (pictured below).

Hop on the balcony, and you’ll find the collectible on a table. Pick it up, then access the page from Basim’s bag to read the following text:

“Think yourself an intellect?
Then try to find my hoard.
Turn east from where the learned observe
The Ram, the Scales, the Gourd.
Seek out the isle where waters split
And once you’ve dared to ford its banks
You’ll find that at my flanks
Wheels churn, therein is stored
What once stood proud
Now felled and cowed
That scriveners might record
Look within my walls and win
An Intellect’s reward.”

Where To Find A Challenge Enigma Hidden Treasure

If you encounter difficulties figuring out the solution for A Challenge Enigma, don’t worry; you are not the only one. That’s because the clues are very well hidden, but here are some hints:

  • where the learned observe – Refers to the Observatory landmark, where people study
  • wheels churn – Refers to the wheels of a windmill
  • look within my walls – Indicates that the treasure is inside a building

Now, open your map and find the Observatory landmark in Abbasiyah, then zoom in and move east to notice a windmill across the river. That’s where you’ll find the treasure.

A Challenge Enigma treasure is found east of the Observatory.

Head to the Windmill marked on my map, but approach the building from the west. When you get close while facing the large wooden wheel powering the mill, look on the wall behind it to spot a grated window.

To get the treasure get inside the windmill.

Make sure you get close to the window, then on the left side, you’ll see a barred window. Throw a knife through the grates to unlock the window on the other side of the building. Finally, go around the building and enter the Windmill to find the treasure on the ground in a small enclosure. Dig it out to unlock the Black Rostam dye.
