Assassin’s Creed Mirage Karkh Mysterious Shard Locations Guide

Announced at Ubisoft Forward on September 10, 2022, Assassin’s Creed Mirage is the thirteenth installment in the Assassin’s Creed series. The action-adventure stealth game was released on October 5, 2023, for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Amazon Luna.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage takes place in 9th-century Baghdad and follows the story of Basim Ibn Ishaq, known from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Unlike its predecessor, Assassin’s Creed Mirage features reduced RPG elements, focusing on parkour, close-quarter combat, and stealth gameplay.

Set decades before Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, AC Mirage allows players to help Basim evolve from a street thief to a Hidden One. While smaller in size, Assassin’s Creed Mirage is a return to the AC series roots, allowing Basim to complete assassination missions throughout Baghdad, accompanied by his Eastern imperial eagle Enkidu. According to developers, the Assassin’s Creed Mirage main story takes 15-20 hours to complete, and it celebrates the 15th anniversary of the Assassin’s Creed franchise.

To complete The Calling quest and receive the associated rewards in Assassin’s Creed Mirage, you need to collect all 10 Mysterious Shards, including the two Karkh Mysterious Shards. While simply exploring the game’s five territories may lead you to some Mysterious Shards, a few of them may prove to be a bit harder to find.

Before you start searching for these Mysterious Shards, I recommend visiting Nehal after you eliminate Al-Ghul The Slaver, your first high-ranking member of The Order. Doing so, the Tha’abeens carrying them will be marked on the compass and radar once you’re close to them.

Where To Find the Two Karkh Mysterious Shards in AC Mirage

Similar to the Harbiyah Mysterious Shards or the Wilderness Mysterious Shards, you can find and collect two Mysterious Shards in the Karkh territory of Baghdad. In order to obtain a Karkh Mysterious Shard, you will need to find a Tha’abeen, an elite member of the Order tasked with transporting the elusive shards in and out of Baghdad.

However, these Tha’abeens are not found in designated locations, and thus, you will have to scout around the marked areas until you come across one.

There are two Mysterious Shards available in Karkh.

Let’s see how to get the two Karkh Mysterious Shards in AC Mirage, following the same order as on the map above.

Mysterious Shard #1: Near the Cookmen’s Quarter

The Tha’abeen member carrying the first Mysterious Shard in Karkh territory can be easily eliminated as she is unaccompanied by any guards. You can also get close to her and pickpocket the Mysterious Shard from her belt. However, she has one of the longest patrol routes among all Tha’abeen in the game, which takes her about an hour to complete a single lap. She circles the whole western part of the Karkh region.

Mysterious Shard #2: Southwest of the Bazaar

This Tha’abeen patrols the Tabik district in the Karkh region with a single guard. They cover the streets southwest of the Bazaar and alleys south of the river. You can easily sneak behind their back and eliminate the guard silently following her. Then, you can choose to pickpocket or assassinate her as well to obtain the Karkh Mysterious Shard.
