Assassin’s Creed Mirage Scholar’s Estate Gear Chest Location Guide

Announced at Ubisoft Forward on September 10, 2022, Assassin’s Creed Mirage is the thirteenth installment in the Assassin’s Creed series. The action-adventure stealth game was released on October 5, 2023, for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Amazon Luna.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage takes place in 9th-century Baghdad and follows the story of Basim Ibn Ishaq, known from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Unlike its predecessor, Assassin’s Creed Mirage features reduced RPG elements, focusing on parkour, close-quarter combat, and stealth gameplay.

Set decades before Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, AC Mirage allows players to help Basim evolve from a street thief to a Hidden One. While smaller in size, Assassin’s Creed Mirage is a return to the AC series roots, allowing Basim to complete assassination missions throughout Baghdad, accompanied by his Eastern imperial eagle Enkidu. According to developers, the Assassin’s Creed Mirage main story takes 15-20 hours to complete, and it celebrates the 15th anniversary of the Assassin’s Creed franchise.

Scholar’s Estate Gear Chest is one of the 6 Assassin’s Creed Mirage Abbasiyah chests you’ll have to find, and similar to the Four Markets Gear Chest, it requires a key. The AC Mirage Abbasiyah Scholar’s Estate Gear Chest unlocks the Abbasid Knight Sword / Upgrade Schematic, but to get it, first, you’ll have to find the collectible and then get your hands on the Scholar’s Estate Key.

As you can guess, this chest is well protected by the city guards, so I recommend remaining hidden while exploring the Scholar’s Estate.

AC Mirage Scholar’s Estate Chest Location

The Scholar’s Estate Chest in Assassin’s Creed Mirage is found on the southeastern side of Abbasiyah District, in the Suburb of Kahtaba, as you can see on the following map.

When you get close to the location on my map and the Scholar’s Estate building, try approaching it from the southeastern side. Climb the building’s wall, but be advised that two guards patrol on the southeastern roof. While hiding in the grass, deal with both of them.

Now, scan the area, and you should be able to see that the Gear Chest is inside a room under the roof with a crane on top. On the said crane is a wooden platform with some bricks on it. While standing near the crane, check the northern side of the roof to spot a breakable (red) window. Drop to the lower roof (pergola) and hit the breakable window with your sword. Get inside the room, and you’ll see several bookshelves you can move to discover the Scholar’s Estate Gear Chest.

To get the Assassin’s Creed Mirage Scholar's Estate Gear Chest move the book shelves.

While standing near the bookshelves in my screenshot, move the one by the wall to the left and the one on the right side also to the left. Behind the second shelf, you’ll see the Gear Chest. Which, as I mentioned, requires a key.

Where To Find the Assassin’s Creed Mirage Scholar’s Estate Chest Key

To find the Scholar’s Estate Gear Chest Key in AC Mirage, head outside the room where you found the chest. Use the window, then climb back to the roof above the chest. Next, place Basim near the crane and turn southeast. Across the yard, you should see the icon of the key you are looking for (pictured below).

The Scholar's Estate Chest Key is in a room southeast of the chest's location

To get the key without alerting the guards, jump to the pergola in my screenshot, then cross the balcony behind it. Below your current position, you should see two guards you can quickly dispatch using the chain-assassination skill. After defeating the guards, open the door they were protecting. Inside the room, turn left, and you’ll see the Scholar’s Estate Chest Key on a table.

After finding the key, return to the Gear Chest following the path described above and open it to get the e Abbasid Knight Sword / Upgrade Schematic.
