Assassin’s Creed Mirage Abandoned Caravanserai Gear Chest Location Guide

Announced at Ubisoft Forward on September 10, 2022, Assassin’s Creed Mirage is the thirteenth installment in the Assassin’s Creed series. The action-adventure stealth game was released on October 5, 2023, for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Amazon Luna.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage takes place in 9th-century Baghdad and follows the story of Basim Ibn Ishaq, known from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Unlike its predecessor, Assassin’s Creed Mirage features reduced RPG elements, focusing on parkour, close-quarter combat, and stealth gameplay.

Set decades before Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, AC Mirage allows players to help Basim evolve from a street thief to a Hidden One. While smaller in size, Assassin’s Creed Mirage is a return to the AC series roots, allowing Basim to complete assassination missions throughout Baghdad, accompanied by his Eastern imperial eagle Enkidu. According to developers, the Assassin’s Creed Mirage main story takes 15-20 hours to complete, and it celebrates the 15th anniversary of the Assassin’s Creed franchise.

The Abandoned Caravanserai Gear Chest in Assassin’s Creed Mirage also involves a small puzzle you’ll need to figure out if you wish to get your hands on the Hidden One Sword / Upgrade Schematic. AC Mirage Abandoned Caravanserai is a landmark you’ll get to discover in the Wilderness region, and it is a hostile territory you’ll need to clear if you want to secure the Gear Chest collectible.

Since the chest at this location counts as one of the 9 Wilderness Gear Chests in AC Mirage, and you may encounter difficulties reaching it, below, I’ll tell you how to solve the associated puzzle.

AC Mirage Abandoned Caravanserai Chest Location

On the following map, you can see that the landmark known as Abandoned Caravanserai is found on the western side of the Wilderness region, west of Baghdad.

The AC Mirage Abandoned Caravanserai Gear Chest is found on the western side of the Wilderness Region

The first thing you’ll want to do is travel to the landmark’s location. As you get close, you’ll see three enemies in the large courtyard. At this point, I recommend dealing with all of them so you can focus on solving the Abandoned Caravanserai puzzle, interrupted. After you clear the area, head to the western backyard, and you’ll spot a breakable wall, like the one in my screenshot.

The Assassin's Creed Mirage Abandoned Caravanserai Gear Chest sits behind a breakable wall.

As you can guess, the Gear Chest in the Abandoned Caravanserai is behind the breakable wall, and to get it, you’ll need to deal with the pile of rocks first.

How To Get the Gear Chest in the Abandoned Caravanserai

To solve the Abandoned Caravanserai puzzle, you’ll need to use an explosive red jar on the breakable wall; however, the problem is that the pots are found in the front courtyard where you defeated the three guards.

Since the backyard is surrounded by walls, it means that you also have to figure out how to carry the jar over the wall that separates the backyard from the front courtyard. So, start by returning to the front courtyard, and while facing north on your in-game map, you’ll see a movable shelf (pictured below).

Move the shelf towards the center of the courtyard.

Approach the shelf I have marked for you and pull it towards the center of the courtyard, away from the wall. Now, look around for an explosive jar (red) and pick it up.

While carrying the jar, hop on the barrels near the shelf you just moved, then climb the ledge. Now, press and hold X/A on your PlayStation/Xbox controller, move towards the rope in front of you, then use it to get to the upper wall. From here, you should see the backyard, but you’ll need to descend.

Descend to the backyard to blow up the stone wall.

Start by jumping on the pole I have marked above, then on the rope. Next, you’ll want to follow the rope and jump on the next wooden bar. Finally, hop on the round roof of the stone gazebo in the backyard and throw the explosive jar at the breakable wall. Inside the Abandoned Caravanserai locked room, you’ll find multiple crates you can loot and the Assassin’s Creed Mirage Gear Chest you are looking for.
