The Damascus Gate Prison Gear Chest puzzle in Assassin’s Creed Mirage is worth solving, as it rewards you with the necessary schematics to upgrade a specific sword. The puzzle may seem simple once you know the solution, but it can leave you feeling a bit stumped at first.
The most challenging part about this Chest is that it’s right beneath the heavily guarded front gate of the Damascus Prison. An attempt at a stealthy approach seems almost impossible.
AC Mirage Damascus Gate Prison Chest Location
To find the Damascus Gate Prison Gear Chest in Assassin’s Creed Mirage, go inside the trenches in front of the prison. The Damascus Gate Prison is located in the Quadrangle of the Persians district of the Harbiyah region, east of the Iron Gate and northeast of the Great Mosque Viewpoint. I’ve marked down its exact location on the map below.
Upon arriving at the prison, you will encounter several guards stationed or patrolling the area. It is important to assassinate them stealthily without raising the alarm. Underneath the Damascus Gate Prison’s bridge, you’ll find an area locked from the inside with the Gear Chest. Use your Eagle Vision to reveal its location.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage Damascus Gate Prison Gear Chest Puzzle Solution
To solve the Damascus Gate Prison Gear Chest puzzle in AC Mirage, you must remove the wooden beam blocking the door with one of your tools. Make your way to the opposite side of the bridge, where you will find an opening in the metal bars.
Unfortunately, you can’t jump and go through the hole. Instead, equip your throwing knives and throw one at the door’s lock to break it, as shown in the picture below. Don’t aim at the wooden beam, as it will not work this way.
After you break the lock, head back to the other side and go through the door to find and loot the Damascus Gate Prison Gear Chest in Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
The reward for opening this Gear Chest is a Zanj Uprising Sword or its Upgrade Schematic.
