Far Cry 6 Fort Quito Yaran Contraband Chest Guide

Getting the Far Cry 6 Fort Quito Yaran Contraband Chest is one of the most important objectives you’ll have to complete when you reach this enemy base on Isla Santuario. That’s because the said chest includes one of the Unique Weapons hidden in the video game published by Ubisoft.

Fort Quito is a landmark and one of Castillo’s camps located on the northeastern side of Isla Santuario. Along with other items you can retrieve from this fort, here you’ll also find one of the Unique Weapons (there is a total of 49) inside a Yaran Contraband Chest.

Fort Quito Chest Location

If you pay close attention to the map below, you can notice that Fort Quito is found in Sagrado, which is part of Quito Province. This specific fort is also reached by following the objectives of a Main Operation; so basically, it is part of Dani’s story, which I am not going to spoil. Instead, we will focus on the chest you have to retrieve.

The moment you reach this area, you’ll first need to dispatch all of Castillo’s forces so you can loot the area without interruptions.

How To Get the Fort Quito Yaran Chest

Once the area is cleared, head to the central courtyard and look for the wooden door pictured below. It’s on the right side of a cage, as you can see.

Head through the door, and behind a fence, you’ll see a ladder. Use it to get to the Fort Quito basement, which is, in fact, a cave. Here, there’s plenty of loot, but the most important one is under the stairs.

Unfortunately, it is in a fenced area, and if you approach the door, you’ll be notified that it’s locked. So, where is the Fort Quito basement key?

Well, there is none, or it doesn’t exist, but you can still get inside and claim the chest. For this, you have two options:

• Use a grenade to destroy the cage (not recommended for a stealth approach)
• While facing the locked gate, head right, and around the corner, you’ll spot a wooden plank (pictured below)

Simply melee this wooden plank, and you’ll reveal the entrance to the Fort Quito fenced area where the chest awaits on a shelf on the right side. Inside the FC6 Fort Quito Chest, you’ll find the Autocrat Unique Pistol or one of the 6 Unique Pistols available in the game.
