EMF Experiments are an exciting addition to the world of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2! As you step into the shoes of Peter, your mission is to tackle a range of experiments that contribute to the noble cause of the Emily-May Foundation.

One of the EMF Experiments can be found in Chinatown, where you will have the opportunity to help increase the garden’s productivity in order to meet the demands of the homeless shelter, F.E.A.S.T. (Food, Emergency, Aid, Shelter, and Training).

Where To Find the Chinatown EMF Experiment in Spider-Man 2

The Chinatown EMF Experiment is situated on the rooftop garden of the FEAST building in the northwest part of the district. It is right between the locations of the Checkmate Photo Op and Marko’s Memory, in case you haven’t already collected them. Our map below will help you find the exact location of the EMF Experiment in Chinatown.

There is only one EMF Experiment in Chinatown District of Spider-Man 2.

EMF Experiment #1: Little Tokyo Plant Science

After you interact with the Emily-May Foundation kiosk on the rooftop, you’ll learn from the pre-recorded message from Dr. Foster that the EMF has partnered with FEAST to feed the community. To help this partnership thrive, you’ll have to improve the garden’s production.

So, your first task is collecting samples from the nearby plant and putting them in the gene splicer. If you follow the vines from the plant, you can find one along the fence on the west side of the rooftop. Another grows on the east side, and the final specimen is on the building’s south-facing wall.

To locate all three specimens, press R3 on your controller to scan them and follow the orange highlighted vines around the rooftop.

To quickly locate these three specimens, you can scan them with - GameClubz and follow the orange highlighted vines around the rooftop. Press the - GameClubz button on your PS5 controller to collect them. Once you have all three, just head back to the kiosk to modify the plants.

If you’re having trouble solving the puzzle, don’t worry! You can use the picture below for some guidance, or if you prefer, you can simply skip the puzzle from the pause menu. The best part is there won’t be any penalties for skipping over the puzzles this way.

Refer to this picture for the solution to the plant attribute puzzle. Alternatively, you can skip the puzzle from the pause menu.

For the next task, make your way over to the water tower located just north of the kiosk. Once you’re there, it’s time to activate the water by pulling the valve. To do this, simply press - GameClubz and - GameClubz simultaneously. As the water starts flowing, you’ll notice a few leaks in the pipes.

Pull the valve to activate the water.

Don’t worry, though! You can easily fix them with your trusty web shooters. Just hold down - GameClubz to aim and press - GameClubz to shoot webs and patch up those leaks. Most leaks are marked with quest markers, so they should be easy to spot.

However, there’s one leak in the garden that’s a bit tricky to reach. It’s blocked by a cart, but you can use your web-pull ability to move it out of the way. Additionally, there’s another leak that’s hidden behind some crates and a pallet. You can either hit them or use your web-throw ability to uncover the leak.

Pull the cart to reveal the leak.
Throw the crates and wooden panel to reveal the leak.

Remember, all the leaks are located in the proximity of the water tower around this rooftop, so keep an eye out for the water and noise they’re producing. After you’ve fixed all the leaks around the garden, the Chinatown EMF Experiment will come to a close, and as a token of appreciation, you will receive a generous reward of 700 XP, three Rare Tech Parts, and a whopping 140 Tech Parts. Furthermore, you’ll unlock the Portside: Plant Science, the next EMF Experiment in the Hell’s Kitchen district.
